I think the past couple generations got so used to hearing game & video soundtracks, playing in background for hours while they sat there playing hours, that we were able to develop a taste for it Mybe thats why its so comforting and nostalgic- it's the game minus the controller

Dark ambient music is so beautiful ngl actually got introduced to it by a music creator named Survival Spheres he is super goated and makes re and sh inspired tracks, this is great though thank you for making sleeping so much easier 😊

I’ve mostly played the resident evil games I’ve never touched silent hill but it appears the music and sounds such as this must have been quite the experience when the games came out. This is so serene

I'm the same, I played resident evil all of them but I always listen to silent hill music. I managed to get Silent Hill 2 on an emulator and complete it a few months ago, fucking amazing game and I highly suggest you try it out.

I'm not a music professional but check out some PS1 videogame music; ambient, intelligent DNB, or poly-break, especially Japanese games. The vibes are closely related and hopefully you get into the rabbit hole of finding out that ''secret sauce''. If you remove the drums and percussions from those tracks, you get similar ambient pads. A good channel i would suggest is '4AM breaks' and 'Ambience'
