The journey from NJP (New Jalpaiguri) or Siliguri to Gangtok via NH 10 in car is really enjoyable. In Part 2 we have covered up to Rongpo Town in Sikkim which is at borderof West Bengal and Sikkim. In this final part of the series - Part 3 - we are covering our journey from Rongpo to Gangtok which is the capital city of Sikkim.

You may face to face some difficulties. As long as Darjeeling does not become normal Gangtok will have problems also. The road to Gangtok passes through Darjeeling district. As roads are closed so there is shortage of supply in Sikkim also. Because Sikkim gets all of its supply from Siliguri. So be prepared to face hardship there.

From Siliguri to Rangpo, there are big trees along the highway, and not be cut down for firewood. I wonder what kind of cooking fuel do people in this area use for cooking? I know in India people use natural gas and propanes for cooking. I just wonder specifically in Sikkim. If not wood, then what?

1 day Gangtok local sight seeing. 1 day Nathula Changu Baba Mandir 3 days for North Sikkim (Lachen, Gurudongmar Lake, Lachung, Yumthang Valley, Zero Point)

Thank you once again! Yes. I changed Brightness, White Balance etc. but the light conditions were changing so frequently and abruptly (like roads covered with trees, ) that I failed to catch up by changing those settings manually . So I set them to Auto Mode. A filter helps control these conditions rather easily!

Gangtok is not trouble free still Darjeeling settles down. Better avoid it right now. Keep a close eye on newspaper

March is good but weather cannot be predicted with guarantee!

Then go early in April. You will also get lots of Rhododendron at that time. Usually weather is good... but as I said earlier weather cannot be guaranteed.
