They're maneuverable, but I wouldn't say they're fast. Jutland and Daring have 34 and 35 knot base top speed, which is pretty bad. They also don't get a speed boost.

Cossack and Daring are my two favorite ships, they are just so much fun to play

According to my math 66.6% of players will complete the collection in 77 or fewer containers, while 84 containers guarantee the completion, this all assumes optimal duplicate utilisation (i.e. not using them until you have enough to complete the collection)

Specifically by the way is currently worded at the moment, it looks like extra collection pieces will be for doubloons or real money only, not for free currencies.

Especially at Tiers IX and X...what a mess/miserable experience those levels are.

MM is designed to be like that.

Not only that, but it almost seems to have a sick sense of humour too. Like, if you have a mission that requires you to do Defends or Captures, it keeps putting you in every other type of battle than what you need. Or if you need potential damage, it keeps spawning you on a flank far from anyone else so it takes 3-4 games longer than had you just spawned mid.

@@vtr0104 of course it does that. Makes you play longer to achieve those goals, create more activity on the server. Provided you won't just uninstall in the process. ;)

This is so totally true. If I have an AA build ship, I'll never see carriers. I got the new Commonwealth Anti- sub cruisers and never see subs. For sure, if I bring out a smoke DD, I see multiple radar cruisers and cvs and subs. I remember I had a capture the base mission. I literally played 22 games in a row before I gave up because I never saw a A B C map, yes I actually kept tract on paper and my clanmates were with me and laughed.

I don't mind the +2 tiers, but too many games are total blowouts, 1 team having 2 ships left and other still 10 or 12, happens way too much. It's no fun that way, not even when being in the winning team imo.

Quit 3 years ago. Now I hate-watch it through amazing KZfaqrs like PQ. Makes it possible to appreciate the art dept without suffering WG's abusive gambling mechanics (conveniently cured by giving them your credit card info).

@@JohnSmith-cb6qx yep I think imma do the same. It just feels very hard to me to enjoy something when you get treated like cattle by the company. I know it sounds silly but then I'd rather play indie stuff where the devs love what they do and there's not some weird currency every other day. The you can't even play the game high tier without premium or you'll lose credits which is the wildest thing I've ever experienced in a game.. you get punished for playing basically lol

I was the same for 1.5 years now but couple of weeks ago decided to just play for fun. No premium time, no looking at mission requirements, no pressure = fun!

Just gor ir a couple of hours ago, had about 21 duplicates and was able tobfinish and get the ship without spending a penny.

Problem in DD fights is that AP alpha on these British DDs aren't that great.

@@anidiot2818 improved isn't equivalent to never bounces which is HE. For 400 more alpha per shell, I'm not sure it's that useful. It's just for ships like Ragnar Elbing or Khaba or with heavy AP if you take it.

Same, Lightning with perma camo rules and I cant wait to get these several last containers for Somme!

Kleber still has really good effective damage at 13-15km range without the booster, been greedy with only using the booster on dds and light cruisers, and gotten full games without reload booster with still some 200k+ damage. It's all about ballistics and fires.

For me the hardest was Spotting damage.

got it with just 3 hours left. 25 games in top 5 was just a grindy mission. Spotting damage for me was easy enough, I managed it while doing the sub flooding

This is something players have been requesting for a while. It's a great way for players to extract value from ships they don't want, and the trade-in is completely optional. I don't understand why you call this a "swindle". Did you not know it's optional?

Was going to say this, but then saw how crappy their AP alpha is comparatively. HE might still be the better choice for fires and to guarantee no overpens or bounces. Also only Druid has true short fuse AP.

Bit of a late reply but the somme containers drop a large number of green boosters. Combine this with premium time and you'll get easily getting 200k a game. I skipped the sub credits mission until week 3 and combined it with the flood mission

If you play decently you can get 300k avg per game playing tier 8 and 9. Combine that with premium time you can get 500k-750k per game, especially if you find yourself in the top 3. Its steep, but doable. I got the Somme a few days before the time expiry and didn't play subs at all or without spending any real money. I personally like this kind of slightly skill wall because it means that poor players don't end up with even more high premium ships to potato in (as if there aren't enough of those already). I mean technically you can just pay for the containers but why get a freemium Jutland for money? But then there are brainless players that purchased AL Azuma so there is that lol.

I wouldn't exactly call it lazy, considering the premium and special ships come with better economy, but i see your point to an extent due to the fact weegee sometimes can overprice things.

There are loads of new ships in the pipeline. Y'all just like to complain. Copy paste ships are a good thing. Learning new meta at the speed WG is pumping out new ships is exhausting. Suckers who drop money on these techtree clones aren't getting better stuff than what you could get for free.

Gambling wise there is no indication that Somme will get added to the SC pool. Gameplay wise the players get a free T9 premium with no impact to game balance (clone of Jutland). Wargaming has ATLEAST a dozen premium ships in supertest, but noooo how dare they release one clone Jutland. Stop gambling and you'll be less miserable.

Why do you care? Just don't buy it if you aren't interested, but Somme was an actual cancelled Battle-class. I won't spend any money on it either, but I can appreciate possibly getting a T9 premium economy and captain trainer ship (and a good looking camo) for free.

My gripe is that they deliberately sabotage the fun of the game to force people to open their wallets. They put in enough effort to give the game a fun facade, then hold the fun hostage to turn a profit, creating a community of masochists clamoring to throw cash at their sadist. Other games do this to a smaller degree but WG takes it to the extreme, hence why it bothers me.

@@JohnSmith-cb6qx I appreciate your thoughts on how WG operates in general, but we're speaking about this ship (Somme) specifically. A clone techtree ship is probably one of the least damaging addition to the game possible, and you can get it for free w/ premium benefits. We've gotten Tashkent '39 and Jager as new, free event ships simultaneously. I missed the coupon deadline on Jager and still got her at no monetary costs. There is literally no reason to be complaining.
