Son lux has an aesthetic that only certain people can appreciate. You really can't get much people to listen to their songs. And those of of us who do like this music, it's as if we were meant to like it. We are connected in a way.

I'm happy to know I'm not alone in my appreciation for true music. Most people just can't understand why this style is so beautifully mesmerizing. Its unique, its messy and its painful, but that's what makes it so special. This isn't a song for the world to hear, this is a song for US to hear. A moment to leave ourselves and be with his pain. This song sounds like empathy to me, I cant really explain it..sorry this is so long, I don't connect with other people's thought processes often, lmao

In some ways, I find Son Lux reminds me of Fleet Foxes. In that, specifically, both bands are not afraid to use a myriad of instruments and sounds to create tension and emotion. However, Son Lux isn't against using synth noises while Fleet Foxes is exclusively traditional percussion, etc.

What sun lux does is using world like melodies that everyone kinda knows for some reason but they produce what the brain knows of sound and melody and they make it possible for us to hear and put in reality. That’s why you feel like you know it.

Well I'm a bit late, but I believe it's about giving birth to a child, hence the name labor. The lyrics starts with I will break with you, for your body to be freed. Possibly talking about breaking the water, or about the strain it puts on the body while giving birth. And then it sings "take the weight of you, for your gravity to be erased. This could be about the mother carrying the child throughout the pregnancy, making it weightless. "what was the form, the flesh, the feet, the face" sounds like a wondering about what the baby will look like, because so far they've only seen ultrasounds of it. "come to life, my hungry arms are begging you" the mother is yearning to hold the unborn baby. "Labor reveal . Before our eyes, into our ears . Unfurl with light . The stars around us disappear . Just what is torn . What comes alive inside of us" This is the moment the child comes out. It could be read as the experience from both mother and child. The mother hearing the child's cry and sees it, and forgets the existence of everything else. While the baby hears the sounds of the world, and the brightness of the world as well. You can also hear the beeping in the background from what sounds like the ECG, like heartbeats. The jarring almost scary noises in the beginning could be interpreted as the fear of going into labor, all of a sudden everything you hold dear is on the line. It's a truly beautiful song. Of course, this is just my interpretation, it could be about something completely different!
