I have heard /seen 3 renditions of this on KZfaq, by Capucilli, Bastianini and Zancanaro.For me the Bastianini (a video) shades it over Zancanaro (who voice I prefer) because of his acting.Capucilli may have finer technique (I am not a judge) but his voice he lacks conviction here (and acting not as good as Bastianini in this peice) and in other comparisons I have made with e.g. Zancanaro

Great singing, but this is such a terrible recording... the recording engineers made everyone sound like they were singing inside a small closet...

E Edgerton it's actually a technically brilliant recording. It was actually made in the theatre of la scala and if you listen to it in is entirety you can here the sound bounce of the walls.
