Laryngitis from an infection. Causes inflammation in the larynx. I had it once and it lasted 2 or 3 days I think.

I lost my voice similar to sonas before. After dealing with stuff in the rain and cold, and screaming real loud after for catharsis. My voice was essentially gone for about a week. It is not a fun feeling whatsoever.
