No matter how much they change their style I will always love Sonata. Because their music always lift my spirits. I suffer from depression and anxiety and Sonata's music makes me feel better whenever I hear it. It's just beautiful and majestic. It's happy metal but not cheesy happy metal like Freedom Call (don't get me wrong I love them too). But Sonata it's the kind of music that will make you smile whenever you're sad or in a bad mood.

Concuerdo contigo , a mi me hace hacer más rápido los quehaceres de la casa o estar de buenas aunque todo en mi entorno se este callendo , la voz de Tonny tiene esa habilidad de hacerte sentir tranquilo , con decirte que hasta las compañeras de mi trabajo lo bautizaron como " El chico que toca música loca pero canta bonito" . Y como dices es un metal feliz pero agradable , que muchas veces sus letras no tienen nada de feliz pero aún así la música de ellos lo torna así . Y aunque cambien de estilo suenan bien aunque muchos piensen lo contrario, musicalmente son perfectos !!! ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉

I have to agree. This mix doesn't sound good. Especially the bass guitars are way too overwhelming and muddy; the snare has a weird impact reverb.

I liked the songs, but i have to agree with this, the mixing is not at sonata standards, just listen to any song from Unia and then listen to this and you will know what we're talking about.

Been listening to them for 11 years, lost track of what they been up to after pariah's child. I thought they changed drummers because tommy looks so different, had to double check if he was still in the band Time indeed takes its toll

The guitar tone is eating everything else, very strange mixing. The bass range is an issue as well. You're Sonata Artica, that's not acceptable.

I think i've pretty much gave up on them at this point. The songs are bland, mixing is bad, I also don't really enjoy the whole politics path they've taken recently. I'll just enjoy their first albums and stop caring about anything else.

So no its not like distruction preventer which was by the way 1 song in many albums in compare to ninth hour where it was far more songs politically present based in just 1 album

People said it before, but it really sounds a lot better at 1.25x speed. Listen to it for a while and then go back to normal speed. It makes such a big difference. So much more dynamic!

It’s been said before but why the blurry mixing???? I’m a long time SA fan who loves the older albums more than the new ones but I think this album also has some good songs.....but the entire album is ruined by a vague, blurry and irritating to listen to mixing. Such a shame, they sounder better 10 years ago.....what’s the point in that?

Hmh... difficult to say. Honestly I just think, that the vocals should be like this, but the volume is a bit unbalanced....Maybe it depends how much Bass you push in.

I think it could have been mixed better. I agree it kind of lacks that "oomph" that it could have it they just did a better job mixing it. I'm no sound engineer but that's just my opinion for what it's worth.

Lots of people saying bring back jani, but man I love " the days of grays" "stones grow her name" and "pariahs child", great cd's, but the last one and the first 3 songs released from this one dont have that SA magic, and nothing to do with being fast, just seems like you said bland, hopefully better stuff on the whole cd

They said many times that the goal was to create a more organic sounding album, so you get the feeling that they are playing live. I dont think it sounds so bad ^^

Agreed. I have no problem if Sonata wants to go more of the pop route because a lot of their songs are quite melodic, especially on Talviyo. But why can't they make fast stuff too? Like, why can't we have both as fans and the band can do best of both worlds?

Most bands from Sonata Arctica's era have become a bit... boring, but Sonata Arctica still sound like they want to make music, the lyrics always pique my interest and Tony Kakko is such a great frontman

Seeing Sonata Arctica live a few days ago was one of the most disappointing concert experiences that I've ever had. While watching them play, I recalled the awesome shows they put on 10 - 15 years ago and wondered about what the hell happened to this band.

I got this album yesterday but haven't listened to it all the way through, but you can tell that enthusiasm they had on their first four albums has disappeared over the past few years... they've never released a bad album, but that energy just isnt thereanymore. Especially on the Ecliptica rerecording. I dont expect them to sound like they're in their 20s anymore but they sounded straight up bored with that one

Great album guys. Listening to it from a rock standpoint great stuff! Honestly it feels like you found your sound. Alot of stuff has the atmosphere that this band has become famous for but with your original tricky beans roots.

I see large change in their music and performance. It's not that SONATA ARCTICA like before. When I heard their first promotion Talviyö single I felt disappointed and I started thinking that this album is not that I expected, not that all fans expected. Especially that we waited for this album long time. But the second song which appeared COLD gave me little hope that it's not very bad album so I promised myself to hear all songs thoroughly and give the right answer because it's only my first impression. I quite like it. Nobody ever knows how a band is going to change But sonata have always said they will try things new. It’s a nice song. Well written Granted it’s not got the same edge as the early stuff. But it’s from a good album and very enjoyable

Tony just said in a recent interview that they hired someone to do sound mixing and he had them play instruments live and record instead of doing the usual,and mixing the instruments themselves and hoped people liked the change

i actually really like the new bass player. his playing is very flavorful and it’s not just the usual really fast alternate picking power metal style bass playing

@@Antifascista89 Al igual que las personas cambian y maduran a lo largo del tiempo la música y las bandas también cambian y evolucionan... Es una lástima que no pudieras disfrutar del disco, pero es lo mejor para la banda, no pueden mantenerse haciendo lo mismo, y Sonata Arctica viene cambiando desde stones grow her name haciendo el sonido de cada disco distinto, eso es positivo, cada álbum tiene personalidad y puedes distinguirlos los unos de los otros , desde mi punto de vista que puedas escuchar una canción y directamente discernir de que disco viene, la fecha y la etapa de la banda es lo que hace una banda memorable, pero si todos los discos suenan similar entre sí, tiende a ser de esas bandas de 4-6 canciones que a nadie le importa escuchar discos, intenta escucharlo en un par de años, a lo mejor allí te parecerá fresco y lo disfrutes.
