Amazing! The music is beautiful and her technique is flawless (although what do I know? I'm a pianist). In all seriousness though, I really enjoyed listening to Oberlinger's performance of the concerto. The subtler melody lines are apparent without losing their subtlety and she plays so sweetly, especially on the largo section.

If the soloists want having such a good time I would ask where's the train you're all trying to catch. Truly sublime performance complete the sense of being one complete sound of every instrument in relation to the next. She leads and they follow like a swarm of bees, yet even the leader has the same program as the least of them. The never ending saga of period performance continues.

@danielungermann7055
@danielungermann7055 3 жыл бұрын

Thales Nilton, Guido : Oberlinger has chosen a non-Baroque sopranino [edited] here, probably a so-called "Ganassi" type of soloistic (rather than consort) instrument from the earlier Renaissance period, as a few other performers have for this, and related, Vivaldi concerti. Her reasons for choosing this two-part type recorder probably relate to its greater volume of sound and its somewhat mellower, less shrill, tone; however, since its lowest two tone holes are "single," as in the originals, playing more chromatic material, such as the Vivaldi, is more difficult. This instrument would be handmade by a craftsman such as von Huene or Blezinger.

This is a transitional sopranino by swiss maker Christoph Trescher .
@notforsharing
@notforsharing 6 жыл бұрын
With respect, I disagree. You can look at the end hole, the bore is narrow at the end. This indicates that it is not a Ganassi or Renaissance type. The appearance is Renaissance -like but what defines the type of a recorder is the bore. I just played with an identical copy a few days ago.
@adamnoman4658
@adamnoman4658 6 жыл бұрын
Ivan Fong : Perhaps you have better eyes than I do, but how do you know it's by Herr Trescher, whose transitional (or Frühbarock) models I have tried myself, unless, of course, you could also see his stamp with your x-ray vision? In any event, the point was that Oberlinger did not use a more historically correct Baroque sopranino, including Trescher's own very good copy after van Aardenberg. PS. The Mollenhauer Kynsecker sopranino, which, in contrast to Trescher's offering, is modeled after a surviving example of the "transitional" type, turns out to be quite good and, in comparison, a very good value.

Wonderful music, incredible flutist! But to practice this instrument 6 hours a day, the minimum time to reach such a level of virtuosity... you have to be divorced, without a dog, and live in an isolated house in the middle of the woods! 😅 The misfortune of the flutists... A contrario, we lutenists can play 24 hours a day without getting the neighbors angry, but afterwards in the orchestra... we can't be heard! (which suits me sometimes)
