Great stuff lads. You were the musical backcloth of my youth. I had the great privilege of playing with Dónal once - the high point of my musical career! Gentlemen and scholars, both of you.

The quality of these two legends and this performance is just beyond belief. It makes me so happy to see them together like this, and also so sad that we are not able to experience it live. Thank you for recording and sharing.

In 1968 I was with a band called the Clouds from Downpatrick and once we were playing in the Stella in Dublin. We decided to go for a pint in Donahues just to see the famous pub where the Dubliners played. No luck we were asked to leave......the reason? Long hair. Couldn't believe it.

My 20 year old daughter, Cedar Dobson, is a student at Pulse College in Dublin and is doing a research project on Donal Lunny. She will be contacting him this week to see if she can interview him. A dream come true for my daughter, as she is a trad musician from California meeting her idols in Ireland. Love to you both, Andy and Donal.

Fantastic to discover this by chance. Two of Irish music's greatest heroes. Each of these wonderful songs is like a true friend you've known for decades and can always turn to for reflection, nostalgia, solace, warmth or good craic. Thanks, you rambling boys of pleasure, for this great gift that uplifts the spirit and warms the heart in strange, lonely times.

It was several years ago. Well, perhaps many years ago. Thought I saw Andy Irvine and Donald Lonnie playing in Charleston, South Carolina. I am very happy to State that I will add to my bucket list a trip to Ireland this June. The whole purpose is to listen to the music that I love so well!😊

In the end Andy referred to the lack of a real audience as a result of worldwide measures to fight for fewer Covid-related deaths in these mid-pandemic times . There may not have been much of a physical human presence in the studio but they must rest assured the songs these giants of music played and sung, resonated . They touched a lot of souls around the world. As Andy's an Donal's voices mature they become more poignant. What a relief and energy when hearing their songs now! I Thank and applaud you Donal and Andy. Simply beautiful!

you know you're getting old when you remember stuff from Andy Irvine's Song about the Dubliners. Being part of the Irish Folk Wave in Germany in 1973/74, with Micho Russell and the Furey Bros, I will never forget Luke Kelly bringing a champagne flute full of Whiskey on the stage and had it down after the first song. Legends, all of them!

I’d not heard several of these numbers done as musical duets like this. Really liked it! It must be very for performers like Andy and Donal to give a top performance to a basically empty venue like this. Let’s hope it’s not long before the audiences are back, post covid.

Andy's vocals on "Autumn Gold" blow me away. This is a song I haven't listened to in a very long time, but when the record came out I played it probably 10 times a day (having been a teenager then), so I know it in and out. His voice/phrasing sounds unchanged.

As a young man growing up, I always remember my father playing songs from Planxty, Dubs, Wolfetones, Dick Gaughan, Chieftains, Christy Moore, Paul Brady etc. Always thought it was annoying, then as I grew into the traditional Scottish/Irish/Trad loving 38 year old man that I am today, enjoying it, I thought I'd take my dad to Andy Irvine a couple of years ago, and he fell asleep. 🤣
