With the new Dolphin revisions I can record gameplay from certain games in even higher quality! Sonic and the Black Knight is one of them and I can record it in true 4K 60 fps now! Here's Shadow the hedgehog in Camelot Castle. I used gecko codes to play as Shadow in this level since normally you can only play as Sonic in this stage. Gecko codes were also used to make the game run at 60 fps.
By the way, all my previous Black Knight gameplay videos were recorded from the PAL version. It was glitching badly on new Dolphin revisions so my guess was right - once I downloaded the NTSC USA version, all the glitches were gone and I was able to even import everything from the PAL version, including the save file!

Said it many times before and gonna say it again. This game really deserves a re-release because of the milestone that it represents in terms of the drastic tone change that happened in the franchise after this one. I keep having the feeling that the creators knew very well that this would be The Last Actual Sonic Game, so they did their best to make this game feel as "Sonic-y" as possible and they succeeded.....but this game is a Wii exclusive which makes it's whole message elusive and hard to discover, let alone to understand. As of myself, even though I knew the game since it's original release I only got the chance to try it myself until 1,5 years ago. :P

Personally, I'd be happy with a port to non-Wii Stick consoles. Never got to own those... Also, it's true that this game does some sneaky things (like play It Doesn't Matter just before Sonic tranforms Excalibur) but I don't know if that's the case. Well, I didn't play it myself, so I wouldn't know...

I don't get a chance to try it my self, because I don't have a wii or a wii u, but I love it, just to watch. But I can play Sonic unleashed now, thanks for the XBOX one backwards! Sonic unleashed is the only REAL Sonic game I played whit. Amúgy szia SpyroGuy! XD

i dug how they handled shadow in this game. shadow doing more chaos moves than the typical spindash/homing attack or spinning kick sounds more up his alley. the way his "boost" was simply chaos control and attacks enemies with chaos snap/blast was a good idea to mesh all 3 of his abilities from shadow/06 to here.

@@HiddenPulse04 bro did not just say Sonic Mania. Sonic Mania was great, but it wasn’t diverse or unique. It reused and remixed old stages which Generations had done way before Mania. SatBK takes place in a completely new world based on King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable. This game changed the character designs very slightly, but within reason as to fit into the story they are originally from since they, excluding Sonic, are the Knights of the Roundtable I believe. You also use swords, there is literally no other sonic game that has done this since, and don’t even say Frontiers did it because that was a cutscene not a gameplay feature. Mania and Black Knight are completely incomparable in terms of Diversity and Uniqueness.

GAMEPLAY, the main issue is that it takes too much effort to master the movements and its not quite satisfiying when you reach that point, i any other aspect the game goes from pretty good to godlike

Speedy V. I want that so bad, but preferably for the PS4 and PC as well, though I'm not sure if Nintendo holds any authority over the title so it might not be possible. Lost World came to PC at least though so who knows. Personally I'd love it even more if they just made a 'Storybook Collection' which was both this and Secret Rings with those improvements. I also wouldn't mind seeing Colors get the HD treatment on newer consoles as well honestly. xD

One of the best Sonic games I swear !! This beats Colors and Generations any day. The tone of the story .. the voice acting... back when Sonic was Sonic...😔

This is probably still my favorite Sonic game to this day for all those reasons. As much as I love Generations for the Modern style gameplay, this one tops it on every other aspect, though the motions/waggle controls sadly bring it down a peg. I still want to see an HD re-release with sword swinging mapped to a button, then the game would be near perfect.

Eh it's a brilliant game dont get me wrong I grew up with this and secret rings but going through my xbox era with unleashed which made sonic feel fast, which is what a sonic game is, made me look at it differently. What I'm trying to say is that it's an amazing game but it's not a good SONIC game

It has nearly no flow and when it does it's in challenging. But the PRESENTATION is masterful. Refine the mechanics so that everything relates to a speedy flow (Sonic speeds up the higher the combo rank, good timing on sword swings rewarding dash meter stuff like that) and it would be good sonic gameplay on tip of that.

I just realized. If some Sonic games didn't use motion control, they would've been just fine. Sonic Free Riders would've been awesome if not for the motion control. Sonic and the Secret Rings and the Black Knight would've got noticed if it wasn't for the controls. DAMN IT. It's not just Sonic either that was badly affected by stupid motion controls either.

Izuki 101 No,Free Riders had garbage story,low difficulty past the Kinect issue,mediocre voices (to this day,only one improved),small character cast,and little boards to choose.Black Knight and Secret Rings were genuine,Free Riders was a lame far for Xbox

Black Knight motion controls was only attack thats it really i dont see a downside and sonic free riders was a breeze for me heck i got Super sonic on there by s ranking all missions and played online but secret rings it was ok but not perfect.

King Arthur is easy in the sense that it is possible to understand what needs to be done and executed. I had no problem defeating Percival, but to this day I have no idea how the combat works. Against Arthur you have visual clues to when to attack, but against Percival it seems to be a matter of luck.

I don't need 4k or 1080- I just want it playable. It runs at 16-23 fps no matter what I do. And yes, I have the 60fps code.

Try to lower graphic settings. If it doesn't work, try different Dolphin emulator revisions. If it still runs slowly, than maybe your PC is just a little bit underpowered though I doubt that it is.

Wow Jason didn’t really try much with shadow in this game did he? He just sounds like werehog sonic when he screams. And in other voice clips he just sounds like a darker sonic. It’s weird when you compare his voice in Shadow and 06 because he actually sounds like a separate character

Josh. Linear doesn't mean it isn't good though. At least this game had challenge and enemies who could actually fight back. Any game after it was so watered down in difficulty and had enemies that can't even react to you. I think this was a better "boost" game then later ones since boost wasn't the answer to everything.
