Sonic CD: Desert Dazzle Zone (Complete) ✪ Walkthrough (1080p/60fps)

Desert Dazzle Zone is a Stage Port created by Toru the Red Fox, while the finished version here was made by DonZombpepo.
This port, unlike the other ports of this Zone which just replace Palmtree Panic, adds a brand new level slot to the game, and makes the level accessible through the Sound Test Easter egg that previously only showed a photo of the Zone (PCM NO.32, DA NO.08), which is likely how the Zone originally was accessed before it was cut. It is also accessible through the "BONUS" category in the Dev Menu.
With this updated version by DonZombpepo, this aims to:
☉ Finish the act 1.
☉ Make the level more alive.
☉ Add enemies, obstacles, collectables, and level design.
To get into Desert Dazzle, you will need to use the DevMenu's stage select, DD is on stage select/bonus (same as Toru's restoration because this mod is based on it.)

I'm impressed they brought the desert zone onto Sonic CD and implemented it flawlessly. Sonic CD may not have the greatest reputation for what it is, but the game still wins my heart. Seeing you play it makes it even better and you've done awesome knocking out this entire week with the uploads. I'll be ready for Monday, keep it up JP 🙌🏿

I kinda prefer sonic 2, it would be cool an mix of sonic 2 sprites and musics, with sonic cd levels, they feel way more alive

Adding a level slot is a matter of pressing a button to add to the GameConfig.

A bad future of this zone may be all the background rocks are gone, just a pile of sand, and as well the sky could be red while we see background buildings in the pile of sand. As well eggman logos in the floor, along metallical floor itself. and the cactuses and plants on the zone would be literally Roboticized Plants, or kind of machinery that replaced them.

@Craftling77 Many people speculate that the weird area in Wacky Workbench's past with the angel statue is leftover R2 graphics. Sometimes I think R2 and Tidal Tempest got merged into a single round, since a lot of Tidal Tempest's graphics give off a lot of Marble Zone vibes.

@Craftling77 i think that considering how R2 had already tracks developed for it (as seen that it was remixed in the Sonic Album) and the R2 tracks being remixed into said album (assuming that was done late into development) i presume that it's possible that the assets for R2 exist somewhere but it was scrapped somewhere mid-development

@@arlokraftit isn’t, but it’s the closest thing to a level song that already exists in the ost. It’s for *a* level, so why not use it for a custom modded level rather than recycling music from another level? Easy enough.
