The very first melodies I ever hummed were Marble Zone and Green Hill Zone, and since then Sonic music has played an integral role in shaping my musical identity. In order to reimagine the higher energy sound of the originals into a more chill style, I drew inspiration from Jamiroquai, Sade, Yuzo Koshiro, Michael Jackson, West Coast hip-hop/G-Funk, bossa nova, new jack swing, 80s/90s RnB, soul, city pop, acid & smooth jazz, disco & classic house, and 90s dance. These diverse influences coalesced into an overall sound throughout the album that could be described as “HiFi Vapor.” Sonic & Chill has truly been a passion project and it brings me great joy to present what is my tribute to the legacy of Sonic music and its composers.

Not only is this faithful to original melodies from the Sonic games, it also masterfully interpolates the rhythms, instruments, and other sounds from '90s hip-hop, dance, and R&B, but also modern vaporwave. As a connoisseur of music from the '90s, I approve of this playlist a lot. Like... Oil Ocean Zone is so reminiscent of G-funk lowrider music that I thought it was an actual Snoop Dogg song for a second.

My god, dude… The S3 MJ-“inspired” mini-boss integration into Angel Island Act 2 was the moment I knew you meant business ( 17:20 ). And the following xylo note is a serious “EyeWitness” intro throwback to us 90’s kids. Just brilliant: An absolute joy to soak in. And the background is so on point for all of it. Truly, only an artist, Sonic fan, and aficionado of 90’s culture could put all this together in one package. You have my ear, my thanks, and hopefully a wellspring of heartfelt recognition from anyone lucky enough to cross paths with this work. Sublime!

This is just awesome. The master emerald in the center, the rings, the alcove(Is that the right term to describe the tunnel?), the pool area, this just screams Sonic. Sonic's world is like summertime: Vibrancy of life, no matter how old you get, there's a part of you that feels young at heart in a setting like this.
