Get ready for the next submission in the #LuigikidCreepypastaChallenge! Today we're playing a Sonic.exe game called Nightmare Shorts Recall, a game that lets us take on the side of the evil guys for once. We're navigating through a couple of levels as Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe and even the Tails Doll has an appearance. Game even features fully voiced cutscenes that look great with near sprites, just the Gameplay is sadly a little hard to control. Since we got a bad ending this time we might revisit this game again to get the good ending too if you enjoy the game!

I think the Windows 7 Style gameplay for Knuckles is done on purpose, I think this is a pretty solid. Exe game and deserves a top 3 on my end.

Yeah, the gameplay was made bad on PURPOSE, because it was meant to be a pretty ingenious form of art; showcasing the primitive days of .exe games, back when controls and visuals were poor, and cheap jump scares with platforming jank reigned supreme. Heck, Jaiz made a pretty bad first game, “Sonic&Exe.” However, if you look at that game and compare it to his most recent games/animations, you see the ENORMOUS improvement!

If this seems familiar, that’s because this game is based on JaizKoys’ animation, “Nightmare Shorts Episode 3: Recall.” The way this short story canonically ends is that Tails & Knuckles make it back, albeit empty-handed. Of course, this is due to Tails & Knuckles erroneously assuming the Time Stone was on the Tails Doll’s head, but in reality, it was two halves, hidden away, and in the game version, finding both halves results in the Time Stone being formed, bringing Exetior’s collection to 3. Originally, he was gonna find, then use all 7 to manipulate time and stop the Highests, and while 2 won’t work, his Eggman devised a feature for them individually; letting the holder see a future of a scenario they request. An example being Sark using one to see a future where Exetior takes his universe’s girls, but after seeing them take Sark’s Amy (aka Rosy), this plants the seeds for Sark’s betrayal in the True Ending of Sally.Exe Eye of Three Part 2. What happens next? Well, we gotta wait for Sonic.Exe Cover Story, which will act as the conclusion to the Nightmare Trilogy, with Exetior’s Tails & Knuckles being the main playable characters.

In case if you haven't seen the original Nightmare Shorts 3 from JaizKoys (which I think it might be good reaction video material for you, alongside the other Nightmare Shorts videos from him), the broken gameplay with Knuckles.exe is supposed to reference the old, cringy Gamemaker exe fangames, while Tails.exe's 8-bit gameplay is supposed to reference NovaWare's Sonic2.exe, Sunshine.exe, and Insanity.exe. Btw, there's multiple endings to this game, not just the bad ending that you got. Makes me think you could livestream the game on getting the other endings, such as Tails' solo ending, Knuckles' solo ending, the normal ending, and the best ending

I do like the touch of that Knuckles.exe and Tails.exe are travelling to other exe games. I think those controls were made on purpose since it's like travelling to another game which probably I think they are travelling to the bad exe games

I'm no expert in the nightmare lore, but I do know the basics. 1: When someone dies and is turned into an EXE, the process performed is known as demonization. Exetior's demonizations keep the character's personality the same, but any other demon's demonization turns the character into the EXEs we all know. Something went wrong during Tails's demonization, so he switches between a normal state and an aggressive state. We see this in Sally.exe Continued Nightmare's 'Tails killed Vanilla' easter egg. 2: There are multiple demons. The two you see in this are pervision, a scientist who experiments on demonized subjects. The other is Exetior.
