Not really too much long levels and too much platforming does not mean it's better level design. To say that this silly level design is better than mortar canyons side open space and stunning,shunning visuals on a high-speed boost-leaping blue hedgehog is absolutely insane.!

Emora Nightmare westopolis is one of my favourites. Used to find it repetitive cause you had to beat it a hundred times but tbh do we not all play the first level or area of a game countless times with the same song, green hill, etc

The on-rails/linear style of gameplay CAN be good as we've seen from Sonic Unleashed Daytime stages. The reactionary timing sections are what can make or break this formula. This level, while extremely cool to look at and having many nice set pieces doesn't have enough of these reaction sections (although there are a few and I'm sure speed running it will highly this theory)..

It's just the fanbase's current punching bag. Give it some time, things will change. It happened to Unleashed, Shadow, Black Knight, and even 06 of all games. No doubt that opinions of Forces will change in due time.

Boom may be a thing, but as bad as it is, it went in a completely different direction than the average present day Sonic game. THIS game however, went back to the boost mechanic after a 5 year absence & it was complete shit. Some shit you could do in Unleashed, Colors & Generations is completely nonexistent here, no light dash, no drifting (& 1 specific stage suffers GREATLY from criticism due to the missing mechanic), etc. No evolution in gameplay, just a massive downgrade. Even with Classic Sonic as a crutch, there's no saving this game (especially considering the fact that gameplay wise he's the worst part). Nothing but another game that falls into the whole "It's the 4th game, but a bootleg version of the 3RD game" stereotype, alongside Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex: it tries to do what the previous game did, with 1 or 2 new things, but still fails spectacularly. Admittedly, we've got to give 'em credit tho, it was a pretty ballsy move to tease the possibility of Sonic Generations 3 at the end "Don't worry Tails, I'm sure we'll run into him again". Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

@@DSmith3279 Shadow The Hedgehog, Black Knight and 06 are still regarded as awful games even by most Sonic fans. Unleashed is also still just as divisive today as it was when it came out. Forces gets hated on but its a laughably bad game and perfectly demonstrates how out of touch with the fanbase Sonic Team are.

@@cahan7033 Really? Because what I've been seeing around lately is people saying Unleashed is the best modern game and one of the best games in the series. Even Black Knight and somehow 06 are getting more love and are now being regarded as underrated. Just looking at the trend I see from Sonic fans, the same treatment will happen to Forces in due time... Also I HEAVILY disagree with your opinion on Forces being awful. Can you elaborate on why you feel that way?
