So it looks like if the custom avatar and classic sonic fall off the map, they are “dead” and that’s why they don’t appear when you jump afterwards. If a Sonic Heroes 2 mod is in the works, the modders need to recreate what the teammates did in Sonic Heroes 1 aka teleporting to you on screen constantly.

TheNewRush98 The triple team is basically Sonic with the Avatar's species and wispon perks. They're only used in the final boss where Sonic is the one being controlled by the player.

2:30 actually this could be a cool idea , a level wich you start with thr 3 characters but you decise wich path you want to go and each chatacter goes to one (modern haves his own , original the character another and classic has his own too), so this could be a pretty replayeble level.

Wouldn’t it be a cool feature if sonic forces had hero style gameplay all the way but you got to make your own team? Like maybe you could do sonic, rookie and classic? Or shadow, rookie and tails? That would be cool.

It would’ve actually been pretty damn cool if it was like the triple team, or this final boss phase 3. But give the avatar and classic some use as well.

using the wispon would probably switch to your avatar like in the tag team stages, but i really can't think of anything classic can actually do that you would need or want to switch to him for. spin dash, i guess?

I mean the Triple Team is just a cool version of Modern Sonic at the end of the day, the Rookie and Classic are only there for the story. Besides Classic would only work in 2D sections, unless they pull a Classic Super Sonic and throw him ahead to destroy upcoming enemies. That's literally the only thing Classic could get over Modern or the Rookie in 3D sections...

You know what would be better? Having Tails and Amy by Sonic's side instead of a couple of mutes with barely enough personality between them to fill a sandwich. Also armed with that hammer I think Amy would work well as a heavy hitting power character.
