Ultra Graphics Mod is a Sonic Forces mod which modifies the stages RFL files to use the full power of the Hedgehog 2 Engine, such as real-time reflections and Ambient Occlusion. Only Luminous Forest and Egg Gate are updated right now. Made by SDaneeh.

KZfaq compression doesn't give this mod any justice, so I highly advise you to try this out for yourself as it makes a HUGE difference seeing it in person. This mod makes this game look absolutely gorgoeus and it's a shame Sonic Team didn't use the maximum potential of the Hedgehog Engine 2. The modding community is something special. 👌

Wow. This is stunning. Details in the displacement maps are sharp, the lighting pops, and reflections are visible. Honestly, the only problem it has is the strange lighting on Sonic’s model in Luminous Forest.

KnightOfWind - Doblajes It’s most noticeable on Super Sonic at 4:18. There are shadows around his ears and hands that don’t seem to line up with other light sources, It almost makes him look cel-shaded while he’s running.

@@XP0120If I remember correctly, they spent three years making it. Two of those went on Hedgehog engine 2. They also had to make an algorithm so it would be playable from Switch, since it hadn't been announced when the game was in development. So yeah, it was rushed. And it probably wouldn't have been an anniversary game if it was delayed for one more year.

You realize that everything in this video was created by sonic team? This mod simply allows the game to fully utilize the hedgehog engine 2. It's very likely that the next 3d sonic game will look like this if not better.

I think that mods are bringing out the full potential of this game. This mod and the remastered stage mods could make the definitive version of Forces. If possible, maybe a story overhaul with updated cutscenes. We can only hope. Thanks for making these videos! Keep them up!

NANI THE FAK Yeah, I personally loved Forces, but it’s the worst boost game! It’s not as bad as people make it out to be but it’s not great either. The story was terrible, Infinite was a bad character and the final boss was unoriginal. Disappointed but I did like it. The story was original at the least.

According to some development stories of RoL, Rise of Lyric was supposed to be the first one to come out on PS4/XONE before SEGA signed the Nintendo-exclusivity contract (and the engine for that (CryEngine) was said to be never meant for the Wii U).

He doesn't need to breathe, he thinks, he's the speed of light, the time he takes air on earth and goes into space is the same as sla 2 or 3 seconds? So basically he is predicting his breath for only 3 seconds. (If you wanted an explanation about that, it's there, or let's stop being nerds and see that it's just a game.)

They probably couldn't manage a locked 60fps on PS4/Xbox One so ditched the effects for now rather than pile it all on and make Slideshow: The Video Game (also known as Sonic Unleashed).

NotQuiteHere Eh, I'd say that it runs like crap more than sometimes. The problem with Unleashed is that it was too good for consoles at the time, it deseperately needed a PC port. Personally, I think they took the right approach with Forces - Sonic games should be 60fps, if it comes at the cost of some intensive graphical effects, so be it (though I do think they should've kept them in the PC version). I loved Unleashed but that game could tank down to 10fps which just isn't acceptable. I think people give HE2 too much flak anyway, even in it's downgraded state, it's superior to the first one, it's just Forces' cartoonier art style holding it back and making people think it's worse.

This is the closest we are going to get to play with the actual graphics of the SU CGI cutscenes like the opening of that game, in fact Egg Gate now looks almost exactly like the opening of SU with all those red space ships around. The only 2 things i could say about this mod is, one the Ambient Oclussion is a bit too strong, maybe turning it down like 60 or 70% could look better because you have this kinda black spots that looks like sonic is covered in some inky black stuff, and the bloom or bright stuff are kinda way too bright mostly in Luminous Forest, and i know its kinda the point of the stage but maybe lowering these the same ammount as well you can tell the different details of the neon signs, but that's just my opinion anyway XD

rekcaY thank you people only claim Unleashed look better is because of the hd cgi opening. that stupid because that opening wasn't even made by Sonic Team. Look at 06 amazing Hd graphics scene but the rest of the game looks and play like garage. Unleashed is the better game but Forces Graphics definitely beat unleashed ones easily

*-DANIEL X JOHNSON-* the plot sucks, the levels are too short, classic sonic is back, the controls for the avatar are really weird especially when jumping and finally episode shadow had no new levels. (They were the same levels just tweaked a little bit) Also super sonic wasn't added at the launch of the game

Channel DDD It is. It doesnt look like this mof updates the models, looks more like a definition and illumination over Sonic and some tweaks to the light he emits. More with super sonic. Its pretty good (I dont like what does to shadows over super sonic tho). Well, at end, Sonic Forces doesn't have bad graphics. Actually, they are high. Not as high and detailed as generations (graphics were a big motivation for generations) but certainly higher than a lot of Sonic Games, and since I saw people comparing, the model of sonic from forces actually uses more polygons than the unleashed one

What Sonic forces would have look like if Sonic Team fully use this engine to the fullest extent. Graphics and Gameplay wise. It a shame that the fans have to fix their own fucking game Sega really need to step up Their game before I fully stop supporting them and giving them my money. Besides that Sonic forces is already the best looking game in the series and you made it look even better Bravo 🙋

Graphically, the game was already great. Though I still think Unleashed still has the best use of lighting in any Sonic game, forces my probably my number 2 pick. This mod basically pushes the engine to its limit.

This looks very nice. But I feel like, it won't be very noticeable due to how fast and how the motion blur and all that other stuff would effect the visibility
