When hearing this, I always picture Eggman standing on the cliff edge feeling hurt for losing Sage, one of his greatest creations, and as a long term Sonic fan actually feeling sorry for him. Instead of laughing at Eggman's usual comedic final cutscenes, Frontiers replaces the comedy but pure sad emotion and a bittersweet extra cutscene of Eggman determined to try and save Sage if he can from the clenching of his hand.

*Your telling me that **_THE DOCTOR EGGMAN,_** the one whos killed millions in Sonic Unleashed and narcissist extraordinaire, who doesn't need anyone is just lonely and looking for a daughter of all things!?* What is going on with the Sonic series!? Don't get me wrong Sage is an excellent character and absolutely adorable, but this relationship with Eggman cannot stand in future games... I really don't see Sage just tagging along Orbot and Cubot... I think this is going to be a bad idea in retrospect... ... ... They got me somewhat attached to Sage, a computer of all things, but then the badly written sacrifice scene happens... She doesn't even say if "The End" exploring will destroy anything... So it's like she killed herself for nothing... This is the last time we will see Sage in person...

...You're talking like people can't be villains and parents at the same time. There've been Crime Bosses who were fathers, Dictators who were fathers, and other villains in fiction who are comparatively worse than Eggman who were fathers. And for some of them, the moment they become a parent can change their perspective in a myriad of ways. It works that way both in and out of fiction. The experiments have been done. It's proven science at this point. And it's too soon to rule out Sage Robotnik making another full-fledged appearance. To answer your question, Sonic Frontiers is moving the Sonic series forward. There's no going back to the status quo.

mans speaking like hes from the 1980s british times like 'I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR TOLERANCE' or some crap, sage deserves to be in future games. infinite was never brought back and people were mad and then sega is going to bring sage back and now people are mad about that now!
