Tails is crying because he lost his best friend. Amy is crying because she lost her love interest. Everyone else is crying because they lost a valuable friend of theirs. Eggman is crying because he lost someone worthy of both a friend and an enemy.

I like the ending where Mario puts the fire flower on top of Sonic's grave. It's a symbolism that Nintendo gives respects to Sega. During the 16 bit war, Nintendo and Sega were constantly competing who is the best game in the world. Their competition led to the creation of many great games that we all enjoyed. When Sega discontinued Dreamcast Nintendo stepped up and support Sega like a friend who is at needs.

Eggman's laughter that quickly turns to despair is honestly kind of sad. He finally realised that without Sonic, he had no purpose. Then again he could just do what he did in the IDW comics and become Mr. Tinker.

My kid cried so hard after viewing this clip. I checked it out and see that it was made in 2017. My kid was 2 years old then and now just seeing this as a super fan of Sonic, there were tears and tears. Says it is much too sad. Please don't let Sonic die again.

@@drum_jazzy I mean that's more so how Sonic ended up in the hospital bed, sent into a coma. But we still had the Sonic Rush games, and Unleashed (while flawed, still had ambition and integrity). But games like Sonic 4, Colours, and Lost World were like injecting a ton of morphine into the comatose body, regardless of whether or not it was what they really needed. Then Boom was like performing a surgery operation, with no idea on whether or not it was necessary, hoping for ideal results. And now we're in the memorial years, remembering when dear old Sonic was still alive. Sonic Mania is like "remember when Sonic was just a young lad, so full of life with such a bright future ahead..." . Who knows though, since video game characters are always coming back from the dead. But as of right now, I think we're in the memorial periods.

Wow… this was a really depressing animation. No happy ending. Just straight up Sonic’s dead, he got buried, the end. Sonic will never die! He’s ageless and even if he does get killed, he’ll get resurrected! While ever SEGA stands, Sonic lives! 😌
