When you think about it, this is the most influential game in the entire franchise. Team Sonic, Team Rose, Team Dark and Team Chaotix (Who make up the bulk of the recurring cast) are still together, almost 2 decades later.

I recently found an old yearbook from around 2005, and there was a "whats hot and whats not" section. For music genre, what's "not" was Country (some things never change) and to my surprise "hot" was Rock. It caught me so off guard that once Rock was the top genre. I really miss those days.

Sonic RULED the early 2000s. From Adventure closing the 90s, Adventure 2 and Heroes starting the new millennium and Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed and the storybook games being some of the most mature Sonic games ever made. If only Sonic came back to this… Edit: Sonic Frontiers was a masterpiece

@@Wil401Gaming Actually their mistake was Sonic 06. Then they did Sonic Unleashed, the best game in very aspects, but its reputation was getting influenced by Sonic 06. Then they made Generations, a funny and fan service game, everyone loved it. Sonic was going to the top again, but Boom screwed everything and Sonic died

I agree with the people that point to this game as the start of the dark ages on a mechanical standpoint, but there's just too much of an unoffensive charm to the game and it's characters for it to be on a narrative standpoint. Shadow the hedgehog was where it really started.

Heroes is iconic for sure, then you should try even earlier Sonic games. SADX is a must and Sonic R is just what arcade really means

They still do. Time Eater was a cosmic horror and a reality warper. Dark Gaia was a cosmic horror. Nega Wisp Armour was a crazy mutant robot. Infinite is a reality warper.

I’ve had this song stuck in my head since I was 7 years old. It was my first Sonic game on PS2 & I never knew how to save progress so I’d always choose a different team & start all over & I never cared. The opening cutscenes were always my favorite part because like I said, I never got through the game lol so nostalgic

I remember playing this at age 5. I'm 16 now. I still have the game, nothing happened to it, the only difference is I actually finally beat the game when I was 15. It's my favorite Sonic game.

I played this game at the age of 10 and this was my favorite Sonic game as well. Here are my reasons why I loved this game: 1.) Big the Cat was actually USEFUL in this game 2.) You can play with three characters rather than just one 3.) There are four different teams of three players 4.) It has 2-P battle mode 5.) You can listen to music or watch movies
