I’ve actually done significant research into the hardware of the SEGA Genesis, and while its electronic innards are nothing short of stubbornly reliable, there is a very very small number of them (less that 0.1%) afflicted with of Browning Off problem within the entire Morherboard. Of those with this issue it is almost always affecting the visual output (forming a quite odd looking deep brown tone to the images). I have absolutely never seen it affecting the audio output, but I have no doubt that is what’s occurring in this situation - it’s a brown off of the audio.
@TrolleyMC8 ай бұрын
It's either capacitors going bad or other on-board components with not-so high of a shelf life. Almost certainly something you could figure out with a multimeter, logic probe, and a schematic of the Genesis mainboard.
@darxoonwasser8 ай бұрын
interesting, do you have any more information about the Browning off problem? It sounds interesting but I tried researching it and couldn't find anything
@NinetailsNinetales5TimesFast8 ай бұрын
The audio browned itself💀
@dreamsthatgotogether75538 ай бұрын
@darxoonwasser Yes in fact I have multitudes of infofmration about this issue since it is something I have ventured to learn about in significant detail through direct access to the Motherboard of the SEGA hardware circuitry which I have obtained through my lifetime dedicated to comprehensive understanding of what really causes the Genesis Brown Off Syndrome. For starters there is a frequent odor emitted from the Capacitors (as I concur with @TrolleyMC that the Capacitors are a main culprit of this horrible problem). As the odor is suddenly spread at unpredeictable intervals we may also see a vapor which permeates the surrounding Motherboard regions causing a very stubborn stain to appear. In other respects, since this video was posted alerting me to the sound brown off I have been tuning in to the audio components and at this point I can only say that I am stunned by the results and there no longer doubt in my mind that these audio tones are a complete brown off the sound of which I’ve never heard before. I look forward to sharing further information and hearing about everyone else’s experiences in the coming years and I’m more than happy to continue with this research from here on out. Best of luck everyone and please keep in constant communication regarding this matter.
@Alex-ABPerson8 ай бұрын
@@dreamsthatgotogether7553 Well it's cool that you're committing to learning more about the hardware! Unfortunately for you... The entire thing was rendered useless anyway since he literally already said in another reply that he shorted the chip with a screwdriver, he physically damaged it himself (for... god knows what reason) ...I do gotta ask though, just out of curiosity, and I'm not asking to throw any shade at you or anything, I'm just legitimately curious: Is there a reason you're..... talking like this? That entire last reply is probably the most _excessively-worded_ KZfaq comment reply I've ever seen in my life. Don't get me wrong, that's a cool title to hold, but I am wondering why... It's like you wanted to use the _longest_ _conjunctions_ _possible_ at every turn, and do it with as little punctuation as possible so every sentence can run on and on and can't be really be understood. And then you topped it off with an ending that makes it sound like a formal e-mail... The entire reply could've just been like, 4 short sentences: "Yeah I have lots more info about this; I've practically dedicated my life to this, looking at the motherboard closely. There's frequently an odor emitted from the capacitors, which spread at unpredictable intervals and can permeate to lots of regions of the Motherboard. This video really surprised me, I've never seen the effect that bad..." Again, it's not the end of the world (though that was a little tricky to understand there ;) ), I'm genuinely just curious why - perhaps you're a non-native English speaker?
