Rolling around at the speed of sound, Sonic not only has lots of places to go but also lots of characters to interact with throughout his many adventures. What started as a simple feud between a speedy blue hedgehog and an egg-shaped genius of robotics, the Sonic series has introduced a wide plethora of dynamic characters throughout the several decades it’s been around. Whether it be a rival, a friend or a friendly rival, Sonic has had his fair share of relationships with these characters, some of which are on better terms than others. With all that in mind, which of the blue blur’s acquaintances rank as his best friends and which ones are his worst enemies?

Sonic and Tails no doubt have the best relationship ever in any kind of media, whether it be in video games, TV shows, movies, or even comics. No matter what comes their way, they'll always prevail, making their friendship stronger than ever. They're my favourite, especially of how they're pretty much like brothers to each other.

If Sonic X was used into account, then Sonic's relationship with Shadow would have been completely different. Especially in Season 3 when Sonic was very dependent on Shadow in some situations. (Example: Episode 61 where Sonic asks Shadow "what do we do" then Shadow uses Chaos Control and literally saves everyone aboard the Ship from being blown up)

Honestly never really saw what was too confusing about Sonic being blamed and captured for Shadow's actions. Sonic was captured and (possibly) outed by G.U.N; you know, the government organization who created Shadow and to confirm his existence would also mean releasing documents talking about how they gunned down and murdered several scientists and an innocent civilian. So yeah, G.U.N has every reason to use Sonic as a scapegoat to cover up Project Shadow. But let's say that G.U.N did not try to publicly use Sonic as a cover-up(don't know why they'd capture Sonic in the first place if they weren't going to use him as a scapegoat but whatever). Let's see what the public would know once Shadow committed his first crime: A supersonic fast hedgehog with upturned spines has stolen a chaos emerald from the bank in the middle of the night. Now how many supersonic fast hedgehogs exist at that time? One, and that's Sonic? You might think that the whole upturned spines thing disregards Sonic from being suspected. Buuuut, just a game before, the public saw Sonic transform into a form with the exact same upturned spines that Shadow has. So Sonic has the same superspeed powers as Shadow, has been seen transforming into forms with the same spine formation as Shadow and the Shadow's first crime took place in the dead of night, meaning visibility wouldn't have been the best. Honestly the closest person that people would have drawn conclusions to it being would be Sonic.

One thing in situations with characters like Amy or Pucca for example it's that whenever they try to get their lover's attention by normal means it doesn't usually work, so they go back to doing what they did before even if it's bad because they tried to do it the right way and didn't get anything...or at least that's what I see when it happens, not to mention that Amy and Pucca are relatively young so if they try something that doesn't work, they may not want to try again, thinking it's not worth it...

I still remember the cutscene in Sonic Generations where Sonic puts his hand on Amy's face during his birthday party. I'm surprised that their relationship was ranked so high. 😃😆😂🤣😭

If I'm not mistaking, it is implied that Sonic and Amy were about to go on a date prior to the events of Sonic and the Black Knight, and I wanna say that the storybook titles were referenced in a later game (can't remember which ) making this canon. Also, I believe you can choose to have Sonic say that he will date Amy in Unleashed or something. Taking these two events in account, an argument could be made that Sonic might like Amy more than he lets on in a romantic sense so you could rank Sonic and Amy higher. It just kinda all depends on how seriously Sega wants to take Amy's character and her relationship with Sonic. A lot of times, Amy and her relationship with Sonic is basically treated as a joke, unfortunately, which is why it comes across as not being particularly healthy.

One thing I’d like to point out is that if Sonic doesn’t have any interest in Amy, then why does he have the option to go on a date with her in Unleashed? Which is then continued in Black Knight at the ending cutscene? He got teleported away and missed the date, she was rightfully angry, (the story did sound like a fib honestly.)

It’s great that you have mostly positive (but also mixed) opinions on Sonic because I believe his stories and that he isn’t afraid to stand up for what’s right even if it means risk his life to save (and inspire) his friends and the world.

Yeah, but lest we forget that despite being one of the better Sonic characters alongside his best friends Tails and Knuckles (when they are written well like in the Adventure games and Frontiers, butsome of the time, can exist just to think Sonic would bullshit him too by calling him out for his ego), he’s not flawless. But then again, characters should have their quirks. That’s what makes them feel more like people. Just as long as they have enough good qualities to make up for it. To be honest, Amy and Sonic's relationship isn't great because of them. At times, Amy can either smash Sonic with an hammer or just assault Sonic and Sonic can run away from her or just try to pretend she's not there. But nowadays , I think they're normal. They weren't rivals, she was js very angry and he was very aromantic

im probably bias as i kinda ship sonadow but i would swap shadow and silver together... if we hav a look at sonic and shadows relationship in sonic colours we see that there more close than we think... i would also put rouge in the gray area as theres not enough evidence to call their relationship healthy.

I'm not surprised that Tails and Sonic has the healthiest relationship. Also I'm surprised Amy Rose and Sonic are in the Grey Area, but it makes sense because she is pretty obsessive about Sonic, I'm just relieved that their relationship isn't toxic.😅

If this leads was about Sonic X then definitely Chris would be in a healthy section I know many people hate him any as it was a new sense and season 1 but in the space season where he was 18 he actually was a useful and not as cleany or annoying people fail taking account that when they'll in space the space adventures in the planet egg thing he greatly changed and was actually a useful Ally so yeah

Knuckles getting tricked by Dr. Eggman into fighting Sonic is the most famous and often used running gag in the whole franchise, spoiler alert: It was even used in the second Sonic movie. I still wonder why they changed his name to Dr. Eggman as Dr. Robotnik seems way more menacing.

In SA, they tried to make a compromise that his name is Robotnik, but Sonic and friends call him Eggman. It wasn’t until SA2 that he decided to call himself that. It’s my headcannon that he calls himself Eggman due to marketing reasons. Robotnikland doesn’t have a nice ring to it. Yeah, I know Tailstube say he stuck with the name just to steal Sonic’s thunder. That maybe part of the reason but that just make him see that Sonic finally got to him.

Is it because she’s another one of those Sonic girls that would break up with Sonic after Sonic Rush by having the false notion that he is the worst boyfriend? Just a heads up: On several occasions you show pictures of the Sonic Forces player character designed to look like a recurring sonic character instead of the actual character you’re talking about. I’ve noticed this with Amy (first seen in the intro monologue; and most of the footage in her section) and Cream (~50% of the footage in her section) so far.

I think I would like to 1UpBinge do a Which Video Game Characters would make the perfect Heist Crew. I know they already did which Pokémon Villains would make the perfect Heist Crew, but that severely limits the possibilities, maybe Wario could be the Muscle or Getaway Driver with his car or Morgan’s from Person 5 could be the Get Away Vehicle since he can turn into a Van, Futaba, Daxter, Ratchet, Bentley, or Miles Tails Prower could be the Hacker. Donkey Kong, Knuckles or Murray could be the muscle, Joker from Persona 5 or Sly Cooper could be the Stealthy thief, etc. the possibilities are infinite. It would be an awesome video to see them do if they ever do it minus the Pokémon Characters of course.

10:39 Shadow switched sides to help Sonic because of Amy Rose. In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Shadow was prepared to let the Space Colony Ark crash into Earth and kill everyone but Amy Rose talked Shadow out of his disdain for humanity and reminded him of his promise to Maria. Amy Rose was the one that turned Shadow from villain to hero.

(Er... that's a bit iffy; Sonic and himself?) - Sonic and Cream - Sonic and Blaze - Sonic and Knuckles - Sonic and Rouge Grey: - Sonic and Amy - Sonic and Jet - Sonic and Silver - Sonic and Shadow Toxic: - Sonic and Eggman - Sonic and Metal Sonic If we were doing Archie Shadow and Archie Sonic, however, I'd put them a bit higher on the list. They have a lot of mutual respect in that series.
