5:25 My native language happens to be Japanese and I am happy to help! The big ass text literally says 'Debut Approaching', hinting the game would come out quite soon. In reality it took them about an year but time is relative I suppose.

Ahh thanks for clarifying that for us - 'Debut Approaching' probably makes more sense actually considering it's a tech demo. Is there anyway I can contact you just incase any future Japanese translation is required? I noticed you've uploaded a lot of Hitman 3 videos - one of my favourite game of all time!!

@@RetroCrisisI didn’t realise you you’re a big hitman fan. I adore them all but the older ones take the crown! Really intense, figuring out how to sneak poison into people’s drink. It taught me who I am today.

Madonna was a thin, blonde-haired human in a tight-fitting red dress and this was actually going to be Sonic's girlfriend. At some point in the game's early development, Madonna was removed in the final game along with other ideas from Naoto Ōshima. There have been two types of claims for removal. Madeline Schroeder of Sega of America claims to be the one who removed her from the final version as her reason for "softening" Sonic for children and foreign countries, because she thought she was too Japanese. At Summer of Sonic 2011 however, Yuji Naka stated that it was removed due to excessive use of the cliché of saving a damsel in distress that also appears in the rival Super Mario Bros. series, so the staff team decided to change the meaning. of the story to focus on the conflict between Sonic and Dr. Eggman. Naoto Ōshima designed Madonna as the "male fantasy", who would chase Sonic everywhere, although it has not been made clear what role she may have had in the game. While many concept art of Madonna has been circulating on the internet for years, two concept art related to her appears as unlockable content in the Sonic Gems Collection.@@RetroCrisis

As a fluent Japanese reader I can say your translation was perfect😂 It's great to see how different this early version of the game looked to what we got, A version of this early game must exist somewhere, Would be great if somebody put it online someday Or even better if Sega Still has a copy they could add it as an extra To the next sonic or Sega compilation release

haha 16bitsandbobs has vanished, no one has seen him for over 4 months. I'm begining to wonder if he ever really existed!!!?? Haha nah I don't speak Japanese at all, I just tried to translate it as best as I could (with some errors sadly)

@RetroCrisis I don't know, but her design looks similar to that fake woman hedgehog prop Scratch and Grounder made in the first episode of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series, as well as Rouge the Bat (sort of. I'm referring to the red clothing. This includes her.. "features") from the modern games.

@@SonicTheFantastic I love how sega attempted to bring back, human hedgehog interspecies love angle in Sonic 2006....it's probably best they stay away from that stuff. I did love how hedgehog-human interaction in the movies though!!

@@RetroCrisisYeah, I agree. I've never really gotten past Wave Ocean in Sonic '06, and it's most likely best to stay away from the game altogether (considering how hated it is).
