It is now 2023, and it's getting harder to determine whether this is Unleashed or Generations...
At this point of time, this is the CLOSEST we are getting to experiencing Sonic Unleashed on PC (at the very least daytime levels), and it's all thanks to many talented modders bringing over (almost) every little Unleashed thing possible.

This is the result of about a decade of hard work from countless people and I couldn’t be more proud of the Sonic community. This or Project 06 may be its magnum opus. Can’t wait to see if or how this Unleashifying of Gens is furthered, the authenticity is insane already

I'd say it's better to play sonic unleashed on xenia-canary cause there are basically zero crashes now (except SOME in the hub worlds but it's kind of RNG at this point and stopped happening for me when the game actually started working properly on xenia-canary). I can get 60fps on most levels (cause my pc's not that powerful) and modding the werehog to make him a bit faster with the werehog's fury mod, removing the battle music and having generations drift and A-button homing attack in daytime levels is amazing.

True. The Vulkan renderer is already providing crash-free experience. They just need to complete the renderer and fix all bugs and after that all Unleahsed ports for Gens are gonna be just for PCs that can't handle Xenia at that point.

Im currently emulating it on rpcs3, and with my arguably maybe not that powerful pc, im getting "faithful to the ps3 ver" performance. Should i switch to xenia?

@@panos21sonic wait until the Vulkan renderer is completed then you can switch to Xenia (must be the Canary fork).

It will be very hard to port those. Maybe possible, but it will take a while. That's why we need a Pc port badly. For now, Xenia is the best way to play night stages

Apart from certain missing enemy types, the lack of QTEs, the stretched trick ramp thing in Savannah citidael and the spikes that aren't in the original (also in Savannah citidael) the gameplay is indistinguishable from unleashed

only left things to restore to make the full unleashed experience in generations PC is restore QTEs and the big hand miniboss thing that appears on some stages

They finally fixed that loopty loop camera on the tutorial level for the first time i couldnt tell if it was real unleashed or generations until the level select showed up. These guys have really come a long way

What was it that made Unleashed so special? I've played Unleashed and Generations, but I remember Unleashed's levels being so much better. But I can't figure out exactly why I liked it more.

Oh my goodness, this looks absolutely, GAAAAAAAASP!! 😲 Sonic Unleashed is still my favourite Sonic game of all time. Unlike many of the later games, the boost system was actually perfect because of how punishing it would be if you made a mistake. It could be frustrating and I don't mind that they streamlined it for easier use in Generations, but Unleashed had such a good story and characters on top of its amazing gameplay. And the level design, gods, THE LEVEL DESIGN OF UNLEASHED!! GOD-LIKE!! And I'm an unorthodox girl, but I actually didn't mind the werehog. I actually found the werehog enjoyable. The bit about it "not suiting Sonic" the fandom yammered on about was kind of the point about the werehog. Damn it, I'm getting increasingly tempted to buy a bloody Xbox Series S so that I can play this awesome game in 60 FPS!! D:< (I own the PS3 version, so... sucks.)

Yeah I liked the Werehog too. I understand that it's not for everyone, but it's fun to play and served the story we'll. The controls are amazing and the jazz music also makes it fun.

Mejor prueba la versión emulada por Xenia Canary, en mi experiencia ya lo siento casi estable, cero crasheos, con algunos mods instalados y a 60 FPS, solo tuve uno que otros glitches en Mazuri y en el tutorial pero fueron menores, por lo demás me está yendo genial Psdt: Voy en Holoska

Okay but how do we actually know he’s not just playing on XBox or PS3 with Elgato gaming capture or something? Like all we can actually see him doing is playing through the stages. Why didn’t he record him launching the game from his desktop or something? This isn’t actual proof at all.

Man No offense but I really hate when people say unleashed on pc and its just unleashed project with a few improvments. There is nothing wrong with that its just its only daytime levels and no werehog no hubworlds no story and people still call it Unleashed on PC. I know you cant do any of these in Generations.
