Күн бұрынA little demonstration on how to play the Sonic Youth song 'Silver Rocket' from the 1988 'Daydream Nation' album (feedback welcome). This one is quite a simple one to play if you can get into the tuning okay. Hopefully this gives anyone who is looking to learn it an idea of how it's played. The noise section was pretty pathetic on my part but you get the idea.

Great tutorial! Really nice to see someone take on these weird tunings. Did you have to put lighter strings on the guitars? Seems kind of scary to tune the regular strings up that much.

Yeah maybe I should have covered the tuning a bit more. You’d be surprised at how high some strings can go. I didn’t change any of the strings but I think Sonic Youth changed them accordingly. Mine were standard 10 gauge strings.

How do you tune the 6th string to an A? Is it tuned down or up as if it were the next string up?

It's a V65 by Vintage. Basically a Jazzmaster-like guitar with p90 pickups
