Maybe the Sonic Youth album I’m most unfamiliar with. No special reason - just the luck of the draw. But happily this one grows on me with each listen and the very Velvet-sy instrumental break in this song which evolved into something very shimmery and lovely will keep me coming back for more. I have read a few complaints that this is too political. I can only reply 1. So what and why shouldn’t they be ? Any fan knows they’re far too intuitively wise to preach and 2. If they are being too political it’s flying right over my head so again - so what. How I wish they were still around but we do still have the Swans.
