Cole my 80 dollar lunch box welder I found because of 10th Generation Dairyman. Works for little stuff around the house. That Lincoln is worth every penny with your fence creation and barb wire roller engineering. You welded. It helded. 😊 Brian you aren't regressing....you just figured out how to get Cole to do it for you. Tom Sawyer would be proud. Great video! Thanks.

I learned how to Mig weld in the mid-eighties during Autobody for two years, then how to Tig weld in the 90's after I got out of the Corps. Never learned how to stick weld though, seems like a muscle memory thing on distance as the rod wears away and having the right amp setting. Tig welding was almost like an art and wouldn't fit in on most farm settings unless you were welding SS or aluminum. The master welder that taught me, in a few small times for what I was doing to free up mechanics for what little I needed done, was so knowledgeable it was crazy! I told him to only teach me what I needed to know for what I was doing. If you are doing welds with no areas for water to get in for a freeze blowout from water, I'd say more power to you. Your welding saves a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere! That high weed skid steer mowing is strangely satisfying. lol

I learned to weld, well started anyway, in metal shop in 7th grade in 78. They started with the basics, soldering, brazing and stick. In high school metal shop you moved to advanced stick and mig and tig. One of my classmates was welding under a tractor he brought in from the fair grounds to fix the transmission housing. He didnt have room for a full face shield so he had goggles with a number 12 lens on. He had a bad habit of welding with his mouth open and his tongue in his teeth. One day he was under there and we heard him shout, came flying out on his creeper and ran for the drinking fountain. He had a drop of spatter land on his tongue and burn about a quarter inch into it. Needless to say it took a trip to the ER to fix it. He came back the next day and was critiqued by our instructor on what he did wrong.

I have taught myself how to weld flux core (I am not really good) and after that used stick welding and after a few rods you start to get the hang of it. Its not all that difficult to move your hand as the rod wears. Im still not a good welder with anything, probably due to lack of experience and having not a real teacher.

You do A great job on building and welding these gates Cole. Very nice work. You and dad do a great job of installing the gates and setting up the bunk areas the way you all want. Looks nice when you are done. Nice work. Sorry the skid steer got stuck in the muddy ground. Looks nice with those weeds knocked down. Good job Cole. Good to see Sonny running around. Sure is growing. Not a puppy anymore. See you and dad were moving round bales around some. Nice bale trailer you have now pulling with the pickup. About it I guess. You both take care.
