This was for my Literature class and I really liked it and decided that I should probably upload it on KZfaq for other people to see. So, enjoy. :-)

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer’s lease hath all too short a date; Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimm'd; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd; But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st; Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

It was quiet nice to watch but much more important than Miss Swift's action in this video is the fact that David Gilmour is singing here. You should mention it in the title anyway, imperative!

Gilmour's voice, still so epic. This was recorded when he was around 60 maybe

On Russian speaking area Shakespeare as great poet very popular, thanks for marvelous translation all his 150 + sonnets by Marshak, for many of them created wonderful songs like this English one piece so amazing. Wish all other sonnets also to be married to music - they deserve it.

I have to admit that William Shakespeare's music, sonnets, plays and poems are outstanding, superfluous and I love the 18th sonnet of William Shakespeare 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😁😁😌😌😌🤯🤯😇😇😇
@MandyJMaddison Жыл бұрын
Samantha, the music is not by Shakespeare. His 156 sonnets were not written to be set to music. There are songs in some of the plays, and the individual producers would have added the music.

Oh dear, Samantha! I am correcting you again! "Superfluous" is the wrong word! It means much too much! I am glad you love Shakespeare. One of the most beautiful movies of a Shakespearian play in Franco Zeferelli's Romeo and Juliet. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g65pja5o27mmiY0.html

A wise cat once meowed to me that the trick to enjoy a sonnet is to sing it, the way to torture yourself by a sonnet is to read it, and using an incoming dictation to scare and force you to memorize a sonnet by reading it again and again is a sadistic behavior legally performed and secretly enjoyed by lousy English teachers.

Shakespeare is not taking about his girlfriend. He is talking about his boyfriend W.H. You have made this video completely senseless .
@thegraebster Жыл бұрын
You sound very certain about something that remains a mystery, as far as many scholars are concerned. W.H. might have been a patron, not a boyfriend. Also, it is not Shakespeare talking, but the Lyrical Subject; perhaps the Fair Youth is ficticious. Perhaps the admiration expressed in the poem is not sexual in nature. You might be right, but hings are not as evident as you wish they were, so maybe be a little less rude.
