Sonny Curtis sings "Love is All Around", theme to the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Sonny wrote and sang this iconic theme song for the late actress' show back in 1970.

My mom was born in 1938 and could’ve been a Mary Tyler Moore stand in. Her show, and this song always reminds me of her. She passed in 2010 of cancer.

Sounded perfect even with an acoustic guitar, I grew up watching the Mary Tyler Moore show during my youth..That is the perfect written song. If Mary Tyler Moore can do it, we can do it too.

Awesome. I loved that show so much and had such a crush on Mary when I was a young boy that I'm still a Minnesota Vikings fan all these years later. This was a time when great shows had great theme songs and this is one of the all time best.

@@hollyfanatic8686 This is an edited version of the song. The original version had what was used during the early episodes and a slow take of what he has here. It was released on the Ovation record label in 1970, and the album version was around 5:30 long.

I loved this show. I was in my after 10 yrs old and early teens. Tweens? Anyway, classic. Those days were far different than the days we live in now. I think that's why baby boomers are more grounded. We were raised in a different time.

has, always, loved the song. It's superb, to see this. When I was a country deejay, in 1980, got to play, many times, another Sonny Curtis masterpiece: "The Real Buddy Holly Story." When I saw the 45, I, instantly, recognise the name. When I played the song, I couldn't believe it was the same singer. He sounded SO different. Instantly, though, loved THAT song, also.

I grew up in Texas and never associated this theme to country. Back then it sounded like some campy 70s music. Now that I'm older and have lost a lot of my southern twang his voice on the original recording sounds so country.

Wow, this performance by the authentic song writer Sonny Curtiss is phenomenal and historic. He was such a talented person and this song made him World famous. RIP Sonny you were a winner and your music will live on in infamy. Mary Tyler Moore and you both are now angels in Heaven looking down on all of us. I came across Mr Curtis in a London club in the 70's. The Crickets were the guest band. It was early afternoon in the club which was empty at the time and I spotted a solitary figure stood at the bar. It was Sonny Curtis. I was allowed in the club at any time being a friend of the resident band. I could hardly miss an opportunity to meet a musical legend so I sidled up to him and said hello. I gushed like an adolescent schoolgirl saying how much I enjoyed his music and telling him he was a musical legend and a founder member of rock and roll along with Buddy Holly and it was a pleasure to meet him...He completely blanked me and turned away. It taught me a hard lesson though, never meet your heroes, it's likely to disappoint.
