Lee and James this is by far the best and most intriguing video in the history of the channel for me. SJ is fantastic and the two of you let her speak the facts and her experience with Sunny at the same time asking the questions I was really interested in hearing the answers to. Shout out to you 3 from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Great work 👏

I have Audible. Because of the type of books that I read this book always comes up as a suggestion. For whatever reason, I've always passed on the book. Not sure why. I do know why, it's because I figured that Sonny was never gonna talk freely about his criminal life and I thought alot of the stuff would be made up. This interview with S. J. Peddie made me decide to get the book. I'm now on chapter 5. It's interesting so far. I decided to get the book because she stated that Sonny NEVER told anyone he knew NOT to talk to her. Sonny was never going to admit to things that he did. But the fact that he didn't stop others from talking to her is telling. His was a long, adventurous and fascinating life. It NEEDED to be told. His life in Cosa Nostra is a part of American history. Interesting interview, Lee. Bravo.

Hi Lee, This is my first comment. I think this was your best show yet. So kudos to you, James and Sandra. The thing that bothered me was that Michael Franzese didn't seem to be very "Christian like" to his family members although professing to be very into his faith.

Thank you so much for commenting!! It means a lot that you liked the interview. We are trying to bring good content that people find interesting. I am not going to judge a man’s faith in God. I believe he is a Christian but he puts money above everything. It saddened me that Tina dies and this elegant woman who dressed to the 9s when she was younger ended up living in a car with 2 dogs and when she died, Michael wouldn’t even pay for her to be dressed up. She was buried in her hospital gown. Just sad.

Something I meant to bring up that tells you about Michael Franzese. I read in a Minnesota newspaper the following: Tina’s son Michael, whose father was her first husband, made millions running a gas tax scam on Long Island. He buried his mother, who prided herself on being fashionably dressed, in her hospital gown. I can not imagine a son that cold and callous to let her mother be buried in her hospital gown. Just disgusting in my opinion.

Hi Lee and James, it’s a great to join you both for this discussion with Sandra chatting about a real gangster, Sonny Franzese, and please don’t me wrong guys, cause I’m not gay in any way but Sonny Franzese, was the best looking guy in New York when he was a few years younger, there’s absolutely no doubts about that one guys. Sonny was sentenced to 50 years for something that he didn’t do, and he still kept his mouth shut, how can anyone not see him as a real true gangster, Sandra is right Sonny was a great politician and I’ve always said, that these old timers were all great politicians, they had to have been great politicians otherwise it would never of worked, wow that’s something to talk about guys, Sylvester Stallone could be Sonny’s son and thinking about it when Stallone was younger he did resemble Sonny guys. This is a great discussion with you all discussing Sonny’s life, he certainly lived a great life that for sure.

great content, Fellas!! This author had a real inside look at Sonny Franzese. That's not something many people can say! Sonny Is the definition of a Gangster. When you open up an Encyclopedia and turn to the Gangster page....You know there's gonna be a picture of Sonny Franzese there. He is LCN. He's the Definition of what it means to be a gangster in New York. I just wish we had more info on Sonny...he did so much prison time. He sweared until the very end that he had nothing to do with the bank Robbery. Was that just sonny being a Sonny...and trying to get outta something, or was he being sincere? The whole story is just unbelievable

It’s fascinating to this day to hear such a great historical take on this in a very respectful way. Kudos to you all and to Sonny for recognizing his story should be told. I’m now going to order the book. On a side note, most of the podcasts these days are of rats and they belong in the gutter and should have kept their mouths shut the first time. so chapter 11 begins with peep shows and porn. I worked in Time Sq so u may know Marty Hodus thru the grapevine. Marty invented the coin peep show. My stepdad Mike “Novel” Balzano had Novel vending around the corner +/- on pinball row and his service guys used to service Marty’s machines. Marty would buy vending machines from Mike also back in the day. Quick Storey Mike shared with me. Joe Gallo wants his jukebox in a stop Marty had and goes to shoot Marty in the head and Marty got away with a bullet grazing the side of his head which he would have as a scar. Marty was a tough guy and I called him in the mid 1990’s to get into the online porn biz and he didn’t want anything of it because he had got caught in a case of sending pornography over state lines and did federal time for it.

It's hard to believe sonny would say that about Carlo but I guess it's a mystery and it will be forever. I seen the do film she made and he's not really saying what she said one time about Carlo, watch it, he never said anything about Carlo. I don't believe Carlo was afraid of nobody but I never saw him say much in the film, it was mostly other people talking, I just wanted to hear sonny but yall watch it, it's on KZfaq free

The series is 3 parts and right, the dialogue with Sonny on film was limited. Yeah, who knows if Carlo was really scared of Sonny. I don’t think so. Most likely Carlo Gambino didn’t like the attention on sonny from the feds and state/local police. Probably more of an issue with Sonny being popular with the “public”.

Paused @ the 35:58 mark. Sonny and Gotti Sr. weren't the only ones not to cover their faces. I haven't seen any photos of the former Milwaukee mob boss covering his. However, if a photo emerges of that then I will stand corrected and reverse my position. And no, that deceased Milwaukee mafia boss is no representation of me, neither is Anthony Pettis or that small, tough, lioness with a kind and gentle heart Thug Rose 🌹. My failures, my successes, my traits good or bad are my own. Likewise... with Thug Rose, Anthony, and that former Milwaukee mafia boss. Now, noting my brother and another relative in their 40s and 50s are STILL envious of an alcoholic childhood friend of ours because his parents dressed him grade school years in matching shirt, shirts, socks with Izod alligators on them (I guess that alligator on the shirts, circa 1970s/'80s was the Tesla car and iPhone today, that "if poor kids had crime and addictions would cease," but no one can accuse Americans of being the sharpest knives in the drawer, one step above autistic), I'm fully aware grown men hugging their security blankets called the brand names... Chicago and New York City can get their panties in a bunch envious of what that Milwaukee man accomplished for himself within in his mafia world. The man had some personality faults in my opinion, he seemed far more narcissistic than Sonny who didn't seem to have that problem, and he could be hard hearted towards his sons. Be that as it may... he seems to have had some strong points, within his world anyways. I no he had a lot more money than I ever had. Oh! and he took umbrage by being depicted in the local press as a hoodlum. He didn't hide his face, he reportedly showed up and the newspaper office to have a face to face and express his objection, he wanted to be viewed as a buisnessman. A feared and respected buisnessman. He wanted to be respected among the professional elites.

Paused @ 1:10:05 mark. Therefore by the grace of God go I. You here it early in substance addiction that it only gets worse, and thus there is only a "not yet" you have done "that." So, not my place to judge, perhaps discern, but attempt not to judge. I will only say with real gratitude to God that I am happy that is NOT 1 sin I have committed. That has to weigh heavy on that son, and I can't imagine the weight it placed Sonny interiorly, not to mention the weight of sorrow on both father and son combined. I tell ya... God in His mercy has been gentle on me in life in many ways. The cross some have carry... I don't know how they do it without being internally just crushed. But this raises a moral question, pertaining to the world of law enforcement, is it morally licit to use a drug addicted son, even if he approaches you with the offer, to betray his own elderly father so that you may secure a win against this old man? 🤔 I dunno... I have never stood in the shoes of law enforcement, with its sworn duties and its other team obligations, but I would hope that would be one offer I decline as a cop or federal agent. And I would hope I would keep "omerta" about it from the father and well... all people on the streets. I would hope I would have the courage to say, or to think to myself, I will get him another way but not that way. Rough world we live in. A valley of tears.
