Very beautifully explained, sir ji.. I really love these machines. I mean many people believe that though these bikes are absolutely a class in themselves, they aren't practical in this age and time. But I completely disagree with them, because as you already mentioned they only need timely care and a fair amount of technical knowledge related to their mechanics, and that's it. I completely believe and understand you. Hope I will own one of these majestic beauties one day!

Fine little stable of rides you've got there. I see you've got them all dialed in perfectly for that ultra-low "heartbeat idle" thing you Indian fellows seem to favor. Your carb jets must be cleaner than my kitchen floor to achieve that! Have you ever considered getting some other similar old British Iron, like a wartime Norton 16H? Surely many must have found their way there with the British military or in civilian hands as surplus after the War, as they did in the UK. As always, best wishes from yonder in Virginia!

Hey Bill.. Thanks for your detailed feedback.. In India its rather difficult to maintain a vintage motorcycle other than Royal Enfield due to certain cultural or geographic reasons.. There are people who still maintain brands such as BSA/Norton/Ariel etc but thats a rarity in itself.. Lack of experienced hands who could work on other brands could also be attributed to this phenomenon..

@@SonofagunG2 Clearly there are FAR more guys over there who can work knowledgeably on Bullets. Yet I do seem to recall one older bearded fellow interviewed in that lovely film 'Old Delhi Motorcycles' describing how he'd worked on all sorts of old British marques, including Nortons. I imagine that many of those older guys who could work on anything British are sadly now retired or gone. So if one did want to keep a Norton 16H in good fettle nowadays, one might indeed need to get one's hands a little dirty from time to time. The good news is that anyone who has ever worked on a Bullet will have NO difficulty whatsoever dealing with most any old Norton single. Do you work on your G2s yourself? I am the only one who tinkers with my '05 "Iron Barrel" Bullet 500, but I'd had decades of experience nursing along a couple of Norton 750 twins and an old BSA 441 single, so much was already quite familiar. There is also an amusing 4-part wartime British Ministry of Defence series on everything you'd ever need to know about the Norton 16H from riding to maintenance out there on KZfaq where someone with an impossibly crisp and "pukka" accent will tell you everything you need to know for soldierly operation. I'd provide a link, but KZfaq seems to object.

The ultra low heartbeat is possibly because of b1 heavy crank and people like the heartbeat idle mostly the old c.i bullets and I totally agree keeping my matchless running on road is such a pain in arse but my mechanic who has been doing this for 35+ yr has never let me down even my grandfather used to service his g2 hence its still running in family about spares in Mumbai there is this guy called anna who makes production parts for my matchless and g2 he does all with his hands. This is the reason i am not worried about keeping my matchless on road. But yeah i have to pay 10$ extra for each service which sets me back to 50$ everytime i service but the joy and commanding attention is priceless.

Brother you provide a great information on this G2 phenomenal vintage machine's , but there is small confusion of mine where most of the enfieldier and mechanics say G2 engine's and early B1 engine's are same . What's your opinion on this statement?

Dont fully agree..as I see difference in my 71 b series and the g2 ones in matters like ride comfort and crank weight.. they have mostly similar external features though

Need a clarification, will these bike value appreciate in feature ? and do we get buyers in feature ?. It's most likely availability of spares may be a problem.

Does a Military bullet which gets fresh RC for 15 year validity till 2036 also 1) Has to undergo FC for every 5 Years. 2) People say so, thought it has 15 years fresh RC and it is very similar to any other old bullet when it comes to paper work 3) Can we ride without any problem till 2036 if point 1 and 2 is False ? Please clarify

@@SonofagunG2 There is no particular advantage in using synthetic oils in these machines. These are made for working with mineral oils..so synthetic is an overkill.

G2 will not fit for regular bike users, due to stop and go traffic, and the engine will get over heat too soon...Yes its vintage, but in 2021 the new J series OHC engine in bullets are good and all rounder. But still the new classic bullets can't match the old ci bullet...But CENTRAL GOVERNMENT new scrapping policy and NEW fitness rules before registration is a nightmare. By 2023 the fitness centres for bike registration will be throughout India..And Driving a bike without REGISTRATION is illegal. Its just a collectible for RICH CLASS people. Bcoz these days BJP GOVERNMENT rules are so STRICT. So its not worth it for middle class people, to buy vintage bullets...its just my perspective, nothing else. 👍

There are certain points to consider 1.No well maintained bike will be scrapped immaterial of its age 2.There are people who use G2 as daily driver without any issues at all but then yes its not everybodys piece of cake.You need minimum understanding of the mechanics and also another important thing 'Confidence' 3. The new age bikes are easier to use and maintain.You are right about that. Theres a different niche for G2.. Thanks for your valuable feedback..
