Hi thanks just found this site, very good description, I have many sonoff devices. I suggested to sonoff early days with the NSPanel that +/- 1 degree is too wide a hysteresis band for a UK domestic radiator central heating system. I had hoped they may have added the option of +/- 0.5 C by now. +/- 1 C represents a 3 degree swing. So if set room temp needs to be 20 C it goes up to 21C then it has to drop to 19C before it cuts back in again, in colder weather due to the boiler/rad re heat up delay the room temp drops lower than 19C. With a tighter band It would also be good to have some choice control setting over the delay time between on off.

Thanks. I agree with that, not to mention with radiators the room hears up quicker, but with underfloor heating it would take longer until you feel that the heating kicking in again.

I've watched your video but there are some things that you should rectify. Nspanel can also use the external temperatura and humidity sensor. Also as execution devices, you can mention also the sonoff sv whici has a dry contact and is the device that you have to use for a heating system.. Hope this info helps.

I am sorry, but how can the NSPanel use external sensors? I know about the Sonoff SV, but it also switches over the low voltage with the relay. You can do some complicated wiring to make in dry contact, but I think 4CH Pro is much easier.

@@csongorvarga I would really like to show you a screenshot of the Nspanel menu where you would see the option to choose external sensors. For the relay, I made a mistake. I was speaking about the Re5v1c. This one is using the dry contact.

The best and likely most prevalent way is the flash it with ESPHome. But there are other ways too. You need to think twice about this video. It's very informative in many ways, but it's clear you're not well informed on this device or nomenclature @@csongorvarga

Thx for the great explanation, but in order to automate the apartment only for lighting and cameras, what should I use between the 2?
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga Жыл бұрын
NSPanel has outputs to control 2 lights, and also control 8 additional lights (other Sonoff devices). But you can have on in each room. NSPanel Pro can control lot more devices (although the screen size is very similar) and this is the only one that can view camera feeds. But you can have both and even multiple of each.

Szia! Előre is köszi
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 7 ай бұрын
Sajnos erre nincs lehetőség. A két gomb mindig is a két relét kapcsolja, nem lehet szétválasztani a kettőt egymástól.

Thank you for the great video. One question though: I need to control 2 or 3 sonoff relays (wifi) with the thermostat because I have 3 heaters in the same room. Will the NSPanel allow me to do that or do I need the Pro?
@csongorvarga

I just answered your quesiton on the other video as well. NSPanel (and Pro), only controls 1 device, but you can group that device with the other 2 so all 3 will be controlled at the same time.

Szia Csongor! Köszi a választ előre is!
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga Жыл бұрын

Hi Csongor, thanks for the very valuable content, much appreciated. I'm building the house and would like to find a solution for controling the heating (to be more specific, zone regulated underfloor heating) and cooling (A/C, most probably Daikin or Gree as they have HA integration). I quite like non-pro version more, because physical light switches are integrated, but I'm not sure if this can fulfill what I need... so is it possible to switch between "cool to" and "heat to" for the same room? If not, then maybe I should consider the pro version and maybe create a "dummy" rooms, so for example, "bedroom - heat" and "bedroom - cool" and as I assume each room can be connected only to one source of heating/cooling. Also, by any chance, if you do use zone regulation (with underfloor heating) in your house, what kind of setup would you choose? (I mean, pro or non-pro version, what relays and what thermostatic actuators for the manifold. Sorry for bunch of questions, I've tried to google as much as I could, but I'm quite newbie to all of this stuff, so your advice will be much appreciated. Greeting from (nearby) Slovakia! ;o) Thanks

I am on holiday now, cannot check some of the details now. But if you are using HA I would configure the NSPanel to actuate some dummy switch, and implement the actual "heat to" or "cool to" logic in HA. So the NSPanel is only used for display and setting the temperature. I don't regulate zones in my house. The zones are calibrated in my house so precisely that I only control the underfloor heating temperature and rooms stay within 0.5C degrees all year around with all the valves open. I think the easiest option is to use gel type radiator valves. They need 230V to open the valve and remove voltage to close the valve. That you can control pretty much with any Sonoff relay.

For the temperature measurement is there an offset possible? When running manual mode does it return to automatically to auto when it's time for the next setpoint.

Thank you for the interesting video. I have a underfloor heating and a towel rail that I would like to control with potentially a NSPanel Pro, but I would consider other cheaper solutions. While the underfloor heating could be controlled directly by a relay on the panel (at the moment it the NSPanel Pro doesn't seem to have a direct relay 16A port) while the towel rail needs to be controlled remotely via zigbee (poor wifi signal in that area). I assume that despite your diagram includes as executors only wifi devices I can chose zigbee relays, right? both systems (underfloor and towel rail) would be controlled by the NSPanel pro based on the info on a temperature sensor I will have in the room. With this arrangement I expect to be able to run the whole system without wifi and using wifi only if I need to control remotely through homekit or some other application. Is that right? Do you have suggestions to reduce the cost of the system avoiding to buy the NSPanel Pro? Or when we start putting together a zigbee HUB and a room controller at the end price would be similar and functionality limited ? Thanks in advance

Hi, I would like to do something similar. I have an electric towel warmer. I have bought a MiniR4M and a NSPanel Pro to control the temperature of this towel warmer. I am not sure if it will work or not, or if I will need something else. Did you solve your problem?

Not really, Becuase you can't really measure the temperature of a towel warmer. NSPanel Pro can control the MiniR4M, but I don't know how you incorporate temperature control.

Hello, thank you for this. The NSPanel can be used as Wall Switch can the NSPanel pro be used as a light switch? In the scenario where you use an already light switch slot to fit one of them. Thank you

No, the Pro is like a small touchpanel tablet, it has no buttons and relays. So you can only use the simple NSPanel to replace a regular switch.

@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga Жыл бұрын

Question: nspanel has 2 dedicated relay outputs. Can I use one of these to switch mains voltage to my boilers receiver instead of buying a 4 channel receiver?
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga Жыл бұрын
Yes you can. What I did not check in NSPanel disables the button in that case. As you could accidentally operate the boiler by pressing the button. Unless that is OK for you.

Hi...love your channel. I'm very much a newbie and I'm trying to understand how I can make my whole house a/c and electric heat unit work with the NSPanel. I'm not an electrician nor do I really understand how my existing wall mounted thermostat makes the A/C (or heat) come on. The existing thermostat is battery operated and has typical 5 (or 6?) thermostat wire which runs back to the unit. The thermostat has a heat, cool and off mode as well as a temperature setting. I don't understand what I need to buy/do to make the NSPanel control my A/C. I'm in the USA. Thanks
@csongorvarga

Well, it is hard for me to tell. But I think out of these wires 2 will be power (like 24V DC) to power the thermostat, one should be the on/off switch, one probably heat/cold, fan speed etc.
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 10 ай бұрын
1. I would look for some documentation for your furnace. I think those are somewhat standardized and use the same wire colors. There should be a common ground or 24V wire and a return wire that turns the heating on/off.
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 10 ай бұрын
2. You could test it by connecting it with a switch or piece of wire. Check that it is not mains voltage, but according to my knowledge it should be low voltage dc.
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 10 ай бұрын
3. After that you can buy a sonoff 4ch pro and connect those two wires to COM and NO to the first relay. And configure the NSPanel to use the Sonoff 4CH Pro Channel 1.
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 10 ай бұрын
3. And keep the current thermostat wired so it can be used to switch heat/cool, fan speed, etc, other than the thermostat function.

There is a hysteresis option in the settings (I think it is called tolerance). I think it is turned to +-2C at the moment, you can lower it to 1C. It means if you set it to 22C, it will turn on at 21 and turn off 23. This is the lowest setting. This is done in order to minimize on-off switch cycles.
