Thank you so much! You saved me countless hours of troubleshooting my first Sonoff wall switch installation. For some reason, I missed the step to connect to my home wireless before looking for the new Sonoff device. I was worried my 2.4 wireless wasn't working, but after your walk through, the magic happened! I have a nice new Sonoff Mini R1 working in my Home Assistant. Happy days! Now to connected the other 25 wall switches and power outlets...

Good video Leonardo. I used it to install some sonoff switches basic and it worked out fine.Maybe good to mention that id you rename the switch you must use lower case only. Keep up the good work :-)

Thank you so much for very good informative video for installing and connecting the Sonoff Light Switch. Until I found your video I was really struggling to locate my device or even connect to the WiFi. After watching your video after only a few minutes, I was able to successfully connect and install the Sonoff Light Switch, rather than the previous 2 hours that I had wasted. Can you add IR lights to home assistant? I'm really confused because for IR to work the remote must be in line of sight so unless you add a wifi module to the light how can you link it to your WiFi? I know this video is nothing to do with IR, I was just curious.

It's a great tutorial for everyone! Congratulations! I have also a issue! One of my double switches Sonoff from home, doesn't enter anymore in pairing mode. I have changed my wifi source and now, the blue light of my switch is flashing only once at 12-13 seconds. I keep pushing 7 second for pairing mode but it's doesn't respond. I have a mention, the switch is working (i mean on/of the light) only if i push the button in that very moment when the blue light of wifi is on, once at 12 seconds. I can't fix this problem, and the switch was working perfectly until i changed the wireless source.

Thanks for this valuable video. Is there a way to turn switch button light off likewise network indicator as it make my room not sutable for sleep in night due to bright blue light.

In the UK the switch is down for on and up for off. The opposite of what you described. Interesting video though. Thanks

Hi do you think its possible to overide the physical sonoff switch? Let's say when I press the physical button I do not want it to cut power, instead make HA overide and use the remote to turn it off (with broadlink remote). The reason I hope for this feature is so it can remember the last used settings if it does not cut off the power.

Hello! One way is that you can find the MAC address of the device in your routers user interface and set a static ip, what internet provider / router do you have?

In the UK most light switches do not have a neutral down to the switch.

@@drreality1 indeed! Device groups and MQTT usage. No dependency on HA where code can change and or even worse if firmware on the switch itself changes rendering this useless.

I am happy to see all my items. They all show as entities with no device address. Forgive me but how can I automate with an entities. CHANGE and more coffee. I call service a service to control and entities. 8 hours of mental illness.
