I want this for my old phone that I use as a webcam. Its killing the battery having it plugged in all the time so being able to turn it on when needed or via a battery range is a great way to extend the battery life

Has anyone tested the turbo functions? does this increase the range? I wonder if this causes interference on other channels?

Ideal to control the various usb powered candles and fairly lights that my partner loves to have around the place only downside is how to use multiple of them on a usb hub

If you plug usb hub to sonoff micro you can do all at once

This is exactly what I use the original version of this for. I control some decorative USB powered lights. I have also used AA/AAA battery->USB converters on several devices and then plugged them into USB hubs and in this because they draw so little power. Dumb -> Smart. light.

I have more than 50 Sonoff devices on my network. I used the button switch, motion and contact sensor from the first design i.e., SNZB-xx and they kept falling off the network. Even had an early version of the ZBBridge-P and still happened. Then the rolled out version of ZBBridge-P and still happened. So, was very pleased to see the SNZB-xxP version. Particularly like the wireless button switch because its 30% the price of the Flic 2 button. So, I have the -01P everywhere. But they too drop offline. Now, I am adding another ZBBridge-P across my small space to see if it makes a difference. So figured I would try the ZB Micro and ordered a couple of those too. I had good luck with the early Micro and particularly like it's price at half the ZB Micro's price.

Use it to plug/unplug the ftdi adapter when flashing tasmota on a sonoff switch while you are trying to hold all the wires in place. 😂😂 Alexa turn on the tasmota flasher. 🎉

You could use it with Octoprint. If you put that between your printer and the server, you can use zigbee binding with a zigbee wall outlet to fully disconnect your printer without modifying a cable. granted, its a lot of money to replace a tiny piece of electrical tape, but could be a fun project... I also have an IKEA desk lamp for my daughter that is powered over USB, and this could be a nice way to make that a smart lamp.
@notenoughtech
@notenoughtech 3 ай бұрын
Indeed. I used a relay inside my printers to keep them off. Having control over server is a plus, especially that then it's easy to turn it on.

I use smart usb plugs to power up some 120 mm pc cooling fans during the workday, and stop them by schedule during nigh time. The fans are cooling my Msft Surface working "pc" and my Lenovo Tiny homeserver.even if the fans are 12V rated, they provide enought cool air while powered at 5V (plus they are completely silent).

I've got an old petcube usb-powered camera that kinda creeps me out because it sends me a clip of myself every time i walk past it, being able to switch the power off in home assistant whenever I'm home will be pretty great. Also we've got a SWIR camera at work that overheats if you leave it on too long, being able to switch it off on a timer without losing data transfer is way harder than it sounds.

Do you have a solar power converter? They normally have a USB-type-A female. I would put it in the solar power converter and connect it to a Power Delivery selector PCB which are super cheap- I think it can do 5, 9 and 12V? You could then power anything 5, 9 or 12V with it and turn it on/off. I think the ability to easily select the voltage with a PD PCB is the main useful thing to be, particularly the 9V. The battery will probably by 12V and normal USB is 5V but to get 9V I would need to use a buck convertor. You could then have patio lights triggered by presence sensors etc. I’ve previously made one of the previous types using the Sonoff SV, USB extension cable and a box, but that only did 5V power. I think if I un-jumpered some contacts I could have used up to 24V or something, but it would never have the ease of switching power with a PD simulator board.

@@notenoughtechyou can buy USB-A male and USB-C male connectors and just link them with some overkill flex you have lying around. I usually use cable from stuff that comes with several cables with U.K./EU plugs etc. Cost peanuts for the connectors but they insist on you buying loads so I just end up with loads lying about. They should do a kit of random USB bits as I have so many little bags… I like the low energy use of Zigbee for anything solar panel related. Incidentally, pretty sure the Rapberry Pi has Wake on LAN functionality hidden in it. Reminds me to ask is there a limit to how many Amps it can transfer at 5V? From memory the RP5 is 5A of you don’t want it to whine.
