Very nice explanation sir But a doubt that in handbook we are supposed to take 2 reading for length I.e l1 and l2 so should we change the length while calculating l2 for it should be same

Sir, I am a Physics teacher. We recently ordered a few sonometers. The sonometers we received has two wires of different materials and a string at the middle of them to hang loads. I have some queries (Expt: To study the relation between frequency and length of a given wire under constant tension using sonometer): * Should I keep the two wires above the knife edge along with the string (passing through the pulley; on which load is hanged) while taking readings? * What's the use of the side wires of different materials? Does it need some adjustments before starting the experiment? It would be great, If I can get in touch with you in your free time. Actually, I have some more discussion but writing and explaining it will be difficult. Thank you

While tapping the tuning fork the sound should not come but in your case the sound was there?

Tuning fork is source of sound, obviously sound should comes and it comes
