If I could add to the decision making intel, I’d add that if you’re playing larger venues live and mic’ed up go the Sonor. If you’re mostly playing smaller venues (still mic’ed) go the Broadkaster as it has a beautiful way of wrapping you up with an extra presence at the seat that’s special. Otherwise buy both! Owning both, I'd say that the Sonor clearly wins on tuning range and build quality. G's vintage hardware simply sucks. Both can sound wonderful.

Atilla, thanks for the comment. I kinda think Sonor were smarter than we think back then; you see Premier had many sizes of lugs as did so many other drum companies, but all have fallen by the way side most out of business. So if you think about it, as Sonor was using what they had, they kept costs down and as such kept themselves alive as a drum company. Funny, half a century on and everyone copied their offset lug design and called it Avantgarde and sort applause for their ingenuity. Technically it could be an advantage as it spreads the load over the shell. Either way, Sonor make great drum shells and drums.
