Google Assistant has finally been released in the UK! You can now choose which voice assistant (Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant) you use on the Sonos One and Sonos Beam.

I have just purchased one of these Sonos One Speakers. Thank you for this review, I think you should have also included playing music from youtube in your demo. Love the outtakes too.

Seems to work about as well as my Google Mini. Think pairing my google mini with my soundbar is still the best way to go though. Love being able to turn on the tv and play music by voice.

Thanks for the great review, also I have a Chromecast and the Google assistant via sonos can turn on and off our TV and play KZfaq via voice command.

Can i use google assistant on sonos beam or only alexa ?

Not sure I've understood you correctly. Did you say that if you have a google mini then you can tell it to play music on any of your sonos speakers? If thats the case does that mean I don't need to but a Sonos One or Sonos Beam?

Hi Ben, thanks for watching. Yes that's absolutely right. You can add a Google Home or Amazon Echo device separately and enable Sonos as a skill. This will pull in your entire Sonos speaker network and you can ask it to play music on any of the rooms you choose without needing to buy a separate Sonos One or Beam :-)

So google assistant on a google device will have more options than google assistant on the play 1 or move??

Yes that's true. Some functions are limited on Sonos. However you could still use Google Assistant on the One or Move for a variety of different commands and it's great for controlling your music. Hope that helps!

Be a little bit more considerate to others and don’t keep saying every 5min “Hey Google”. Cancelled your review 1min in to stop my home assistant being triggered!

I know right..and this is a "smart " channel..stopped watching the second my google home started playing the killers..

Seamless experience? Try adding sonos to your google home speaker groups and then we talk... oh it doesnt work because there is no true integration between google and sonos that works seamless.. Having google assistance on your high end speakers makes very little sense to me as I didnt spend all that money just to talking to google to search the web and asking for the weather reports.. Seem like people care more about talking to a chip than using the speaker for what its meant for, listing to music!
