"just a playback singer" is not a small thing to achieve.. not everybody need to be a classical singer to be worthy enough!

He can sing nearly all genres of music, in 12 languages and can even mimic other artists (though that's for fun). Anyone in India can tell you that he easily ranks in the top 3 singers in Indian cinema history. You won't meet anyone in the world who dislikes his singing, and most even revere him as a master of music.

It was dedicated to the person, who wrote the lyrics for this song. He died at the age of 42 and Sonu Nigam gave his tribute to him.. The song is from Agneepath (Hrithik and Priyanka).

A little correction...he is dedicating the song to the late lyricist Ajay Jhingran who was his close friend. This song was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, who is alive and well.

14:11 okay to #Rick's question , since no one has answered , here's the answer: Sonu Nigam dedicated the 1st song #ChalkiChalki (from his classical album "Classically Mild") to Late Ajay Jhingran , the lyricist for this album, who died at age of 42 only. After that he sang the #AbhiMujhMeinKahin song from the movie #AGNEEPATH (starring Hrithik Roshan), which is one of his best songs. BTW, I am a fan of #SonuNigam jee. 😊

It's blasphamy, honestly, but yes, he is the greatest AFTER them.. agreed to that. Kishore Kumar's MERE MEHBOOB QAYAMAT HOGI and Rafi saab's CHAUDHAVI KA CHAAND would absolutely destroy and crush any song Sonu has ever sung. And actually my music teach teacher also says so..

@@KING-dy5wv Listen to Soona Soona by Sonu. There are many factors and standards to judge a singer. It might be that how well he mixes classical and modern pop. It might be, how much expression and embroidery he adds to normal melody. Sonu is definitely superior to them in many standards.

@@NoOne-ky1er Have listened to that MULTIPLE TIMES because Sonu is my favourite modern day singer along with Arijit. However, Sonu's voice when he tries to play in between the notes is VERY VERY unstable. His voice trembles alot and yes, since pop music wasn't a thing then, you can say Sonu is superior because they haven't sung it. Also, the amount of expressions Kishore Kumar has added in just 2 songs " RIM JHIM GIRE SAAWAN and KISI BAAT PAR MAI KISI SE KHAFA HU" would easily beat out whole of Sonu's career and the way Rafi saab goes in between the notes without shaking and trembling shows his superiority in that aspect. Sonu can be called a DISTANT THIRD BEST SINGER of all times narrowly beating MUKESH and TALAT MEHMOOD (Who also had the same problem of shaking voice when he sung in between the notes.)

So it Goes like... Sonu sir is connected so emotionally that he makes Indians fall deep in the malencholy. What I have experienced after break up... Starts from First peg: Arjit Singh Second third..Ghulam ali 4th peg: Sonu nigam.. And this flows until I fall asleep crying. ☺️
