Sony A6500 + Tamron 70-180 F2.8 IBIS Test

4 жыл бұрынIt this video I illustrate the IBIS operation on Sony Alpha A6500 with Tamron 70-180 F2.8 lens. At 180 mm, according to my measurements, the IBIS effectiveness is just 1 EV: www.dpreview.com/forums/threa...
(on Sony A7III the IBIS effectiveness is closer to 2-3 EV with same lens.)
Note: at 70 mm in AUTO IBIS mode the amount of erratic movement is noticeably bigger than in Manual mode.
I believe that in present lens FW there's some degree of incompatibility between Tamron and A6500, will wait for June update.

This makes me want to get one of the Sony OSS lenses.. I have the other two in the Tamron trio and all of my lenses for Sony share the 67mm filter thread size, but unless you're on a tripod this lens just looks way too shaky.

Hi there, great video. I have a Tammy 70180 too and have the feeling that mine makes just a tad bit too much focus noise and noise when changing the apurture.. hows that working for you?

Sorry for late reply. Yep, the higher than usual operation noise is present in both of my Tamron lenses (70-180 and 17-28).

The best stabilisation in manual mode but the worst image quality. Blurred. Auto mode is good compromise between shake and blur.

Image was blurred due to some focus error. There was no connection to stabilization.

Zoomed in 11.7x lol That’s your problem right there.

That's not a problem - in magnified view the stabilization inconsistencies are seen more clearly.

@@gorbunovvv Obviously you’ll see the jitters more since you’re zoomed. But we are talking about the video when it is not zoomed in 11.7x using the focus magnify.

I have a6400 with this lens and this is not a true representation of this lens at 70 or 180 without IBS or bracing or strap stabilizing. Fake shaking not cool

you have to write that you are using the magnify mode. So probably your video is not so realistic

In magnification mode the difference is seen more clearly. You don't need too much movement to ruin the photo at slow shutter speed...
