Sony A7III IBIS malfunction, sensor shaking

The camera was fixed in service within 1 business day. Probably it was a software error.

Supposedly the May 2019 firmware updates to all IBIS-equipped cameras offer a fix to this bug: www.sony.com/electronics/support

my Sony A7 III had the defect already at delivery and was repaired (electronics exchanged). One year later the same problem, then the IBIS was exchanged. Really poor for a camera in the league and Sony does not exchange

My camera is doing exactly this. Well, it's done it twice so far. I'm going to download the latest firmware update for it - but I'm curious to know if that's the same firmware update that you recommend using or is there a separate one I should get? Hoping this solves the issue. It's awful to experience with such an expensive setup.

I believe that the latest FW from sony.com shall solve that issue. After I shot this video, Sony released new FW for ALL cameras with IBIS, even the very old ones.

Ryan Lundstrom already update to final version both camera and lens. Still same problem:(

@@ursinhoe is your camera body under warranty? Might want to send it to Sony. I don't have a fix beyond the firmware update

Sergio Luviano It was fixed under warranty in one business day. Looked like not a great deal for Sony service.

IT CERTAINLY IS NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM !! I'm on the latest firmware and this started happening out of nowhere. I use and carry my camera very carefully. Never dropped or used in harsh conditions. It is a 2.5 year old camera and it doesn't have the warranty. I hope that it will not cost too much to have it repaired.

Same here. I also have the latest software and camera has been handled like a new born baby. I purchased mine when they were first released so a few years old now and out of warranty. I have searched the internet for answers. Is it the sensor or is it the IBIS and what's the cost of the repair. Nothing! No one has actually said what the fault is and how much was the cost of the repair.

@@chrisseveris5126 Update for mine; the problem has gone in a couple of weeks. I didn’t attempt anything to solve it. I will come here and report if the problem comes back again.
