😀. You're welcome. Glad my video made you confident with your purchase of the ZV-E10. Its a really good camera. It serves really well whenever I use it as a 2nd camera for interviews indoors such that it's difficult to know which of my Sony cameras shot the two interview videos.

Great video comparison! Thank you! I currently own the ZV-10 as the A7Siii was out of budget. I believe it's a great option and so much less...For the type of videos I am shooting it does EXTREMELY well, and people have already noticed a quality improvement! I don't like Slog on the 8bit though, I prefer to shoot in HLG3/BT.2020...just my preference. For the money, the little ZV-E10 can't be beat!

An amazing video, Chief. Keep up the good work. Please, I have a ZV E10 I want to use to shoot videos, events, and festivals. I would like to get a good lens that is on a fair budget but has a fairly sharp and good video quality. So far, I got the 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS, and I have the one that came with the camera (i.e., 16-50mm f3.5-5.6). Please, would you advise me to go with the 51-210mm, or is there another lens you would advise me to buy and return the 51-210mm? The lens you used is very nice (though it is quite pricey).

Thank you. Check out the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 for Sony APSC cameras. It’s a nice well rounded lens that covers the major focal lengths and still maintains a constant aperture of f/2.8.

Great video thanks, It would be interesting to see the difference if 7S3 with F 6.3 1/50 24fps 4k vs ZV E10 F4 1/50 24 fps 4k iso 200 this way the DOF would be equal and 7S3 iso should be raised to iso 500 have same exposure, maybe this would compensate to certain extent the sharpness difference?

Love the video and thank you! Both cameras are great and have their strengths. You can tell the e10 is a vlogging camera and the 7aiii is a motion/content camera and I can see why it would cost more. This helped so much! Thank you

You’re welcome. Glad the video was helpful to you. 1 year later and I have to say that the autofocus on my ZV-E10 has gotten worse. I no longer can rely on its autofocus to focus properly on subjects. It loses focus a lot and I now rely on manual focus instead. On the other hand, the autofocus on my A7Siii still works perfectly and I got it 2+ years ago.

Main priority is autolock focus and creamy bokeh background as I need to shoot mostly moving subject like model walk in fashion show, beauty content and maybe a lil bit of short film content. The running test, the test where you were running in front of both camera, I didn't notice any rolling shutter on Sony ZV-E10, does that mean when the camera is on a tripod there is no rolling shutter even if you are running in front on the camera, and it only happens if you are only panning? Or you used Catalyst Software to remove the rolling shutter effect?

Yes. You'll only experience rolling shutter when making fast pans with the Sony ZV-E10. Rolling shutter does not exist when cameras are on tripods. Catalyst browse software was not used.

Great comparison! Regarding the sharpness, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the crop sensor also affects the aperture by 1.5x hence the deeper DOF and sharper image on the ZV-E10?

You have a good point. However, I don’t think the deeper DOF you get with a crop sensor camera affects the sharpness of what is in focus. The background will be less blurry on a crop sensor camera but that shouldn’t affect the sharpness of what is in focus. I may be wrong.

great video, but be careful with the focus.. some shots are slightly out of focus and this can influence the objectivity of the comparrison

True. But you can as well take that as an autofocus comparison between both cameras even though that was not the priority of the video

Thank you. I color graded that video using Adobe Premiere Pro. But lately, I've been color grading videos (not youtube videos) using Davinci Resolve. It's a way better software for color grading videos.

A really useful and well thought out test. The S7iii is better overall, greater bit depth, faster 4k, but it is not 3.5 times better, however the price is 3.5 times that of the ZV E10.

Yes. At the end of the day, it's going to come down to if the extra features of the Sony A7Siii are worth it for the potential buyer

In the comparison from 2:21 to 2:33, zv-e10 has orangish skin whereas a7s iii presents a more natural skin color. Can you color grade the zve10 and match the skin color to that from a7s iii ?

Which camera are you referring to in the initial option? ZV-E10 or A7Siii. And are you buying a camera strictly for videos or for both videos and photos or strictly for photos?

@@ShotByChuka On the sony ze10 I was thinking to buy that and add the Sony FE24-105mm Lens but for the a7iii just use the lens thats now coming with it which is the 28-70mm and Im using for videos MOSTLY however, I wouldnt mind maybe doing a few photos just to see how it is

@@JusRay I’ll say go with the A7iii and the lens that comes with it. But if I had your budget, I wouldn’t go for any of them. I would go for the Sony FX30 that was released this year. And also get the Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens. Sony A7iii is still good but it was released way back in 2018. In 2022, there are lots of better cameras that you can buy at that same price point. You can always increase the brightness by adjusting the aperture or ISO.

On zve10, the auto AF was OFF but on A7Siii it was ON all the time.

@@SicBtw AF is turned on but there is no face/eye AF on the Sony ZV-E10 when shooting in 4k 24fps, hence the reason why the human icon (Eye/Face AF) on the display indicates OFF. Face/Eye AF is only available when shooting in 1080p on the Sony ZV-E10
