Again according to my research: This model FX290 was one of the last found in stores for sale. Other clues are the WM-FX290 service manual where we find change notes dated January and February 2004. Another model, the WM-FX202, according to reports, was produced until 2010 and was for sale in Japan on the Sony website (images archive), other reports claim that in 2012 it was possible to find it in the European market, probably an old stock imported from Japan. The EX651 was only launched on the market in October 2004 with the description of being the last player developed by Sony. Production was probably reduced and soon disappeared from stores outside Japan, or perhaps it never reached the world market because the sales focus was on users studying the English language. In 2008 in an online catalog in Japan (probably the last one) the latest models FOR SALE were: FX202, GX202, GX410, GX788 and EX651.
