I'd rather have a good Spider-Man movie by Marvel every 5 years, than a crap one every 2 years by Sony.

Saying that if Spiderman goes back to Marvel isn't a true statement. If marvel got it back and made a money making film you'd see Spiderman in other films just like you will see Cap, Iron Man and Hulk in future productions so it won't be a full five years between seeing the character and I don't even think it would be five years between films. The more money these films make the larger the Disney/Marvel production ability will grow. To think that they are going to continue making films according to their current production ability is absurd. These movies are made to make money and they will spend money to get them done as often as possible. If necessary I wouldn't put buying other film companies off the table at this point.

John must be the only person on Earth who wants Spidey to stay with Sony. What the hell is he smoking? I will from now on not spending a dime on Spider-Man films as long the rights are still with Sony. If Sony and Marvel collaborated on Spidey property or Marvel got the rights back then I will fully support the new films.

Marvel may not need Spider man, but Spider man needs Marvel.

I actually agree with John for once. Having separate Marvel universes benefits the fans more than Marvel having all of their characters. Marvel is doing fine right now on their own. They don't need Spider-Man, they just proved that they can turn even their unknown characters like Guardians of the Galaxy into the biggest movie of the year. I'm all for the 3 separate Marvel universes, and we have DC's universe on the rise, plus Fantastic Four possibly won't be in the X-Men universe, so that could be a 4th Marvel Universe.

What's even more weird, in my opinion is that when watching TASM 1 & TASM2 they both feel like really different movies and not in a good way, it feels so different that it even feels like 2 different universes. The first one felt more grounded despite of a man turning into a Lizard but it's still felt somewhat realistic. The sets were alot smaller, the story was simpler and all the characters were fleshed out, hell, even flash Thompson had somewhat of an arch. Then comes the amazing spiderman 2 and this one felt so different. Everything felt so unrealistic, even the characters. There was a new character introduced literally every 15-20 minutes through out the movie . The story was all over the place, the fights looked way too fake to the point it was like watching a video game. Basically it seems like Sony let Webb do his thing in the first one which is why it came out good then the sequel comes and Sony was like "OK, do this and this and this Oh yeah and don't forget this" They were so desperate to add everything we wanted and didn't realize that not only did they do it wrong but there's still 3 more spiderman movies... They're throwing all these ideas into one film even though they can use those for the next films. I really hope they get their shit together cuz as much as I would like Spidey in marvel. I'd rather just see what Sony has left and see if they can redeem themselves .

Spidey, it's your best friend Captain here. You have been tortured for so long by Sony. plz come back to Marvel your one and only home and family........we await for you :'(

I think they need to work out the issues and do a shared film.

I have to disagree with John. A good spiderman movie is cool but having spiderman meet other heroes is cooler. I can wait 5 years in between spidey movies. Especially if he might pop up here or there in other films.

MCU = multiple heroes, Fox's x-men = multiple heroes... Sony = Spiderman no support = not as interesting

I guarantee that Marvel DID get Spider-Man, just not the Andrew Garfield one. Marvel will have their own version of Spidey.

Sony is in DEEP horrible trouble ... Strike a deal with Disney, unlike Sony, Fox have X Men ... their very lucky.

I have no beef with either of the Amazing Spiderman... In fact I like both the new ones (call me crazy) Sony just seem to be going to fast with it, forcing it to work, it just needs some maintenance and a plan similar to that of Disney/Marvel

I wonder if Sony set this up to find out what we as an audience thinks. If that is the case, bad talking Sony will hurt us more than it helps. In my highest sense of professionalism I would state to Sony that keeping exclusive rights to the Spider-Man cinematic property won't help or hurt Marvel Studios but in return will hurt the Sony business more than it would help. Sony has served great purpose for us as fans, they had great effects for the time and took the comic book movie to the next level. Now since Marvel reigns ultimate, Sony is incompetent.....now that's just unfair. Sony invested a lot of resources through trail and error and failure is a setup for great success which only serves Marvel well at the end of the day. We should celebrate Sony with healthy encouragement and sound business model to consider or reconsider. A key to power is making conditions in your own favor whether you win or lose.

There is one reason why I completely disagree with you, John Quality > Quantity, hands down. Marvel getting Spiderman back in current state of things is more beneficial, as that will lessen the amount of Superhero films being produced, there are too many coming up honestly, and if Sony delivers crap from them, we are only in for disappointment, and desensitization from the genre. With Marvel having Spiderman, we have a better shot of seeing quality films, and the releases will be less cramped up, plus Spidey needs a boost, as he ain't doing so hot. You keep bringing up Box office trajectory as being a clear sign, well for Spiderman, its trectory since Spidermn 3 has been down., and audiences general consensus on the films suggest more of a drop off.

i hope marvel gets to use spiderman in the mcu but please no more solo spiderman films for a while, just give him story arcs while being in other peoples movies like civil war and avengers

If Sony needs a decent film franchises, why not make film adaptions of their SCE games? Like Shadow of the Colossus and The Last of Us.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Spidey to come to the MCU RIGHT NOW? I mean, with their current slate they just announced I don't see how Spiderman fits in without it being clustered. I don't understand why they can't just wait until like the 2020s so they can reboot it. I know he has a big part in Civil War but geez u guys act like his role can't be replaced. Any hero can be stuck in the middle. I like BP as a character more than spiderman anyways, but that's just me. completely agree with Campea here

In the event that Spider-Man goes back to Marvel Studios and if he gets rebooted again with another actor will you be fine with that? And if you are fine with that then there's a problem. Why? Cus you're basically kind of a hypocrite to have bitched about Sony rebooting him with TASM in 2012.

It feels like I've seen the same spidey film for over 10 years. Same formula. Boring. They dont try anything new. Its just teen parker stuggling balancing being spidey and having a relationship. Its not like that 24/7 in the comics. Do something different sony. Fuck.

For anybody getting to this vid late... This doesn't tell the whole story..... More stuff released since the show was aired... Talks for Spider-Man are not over... For Sony they are, but sonys parent company is pissed that they turned it down. And say the deal is still on the table, because they are dissapointed in sonys handling of the charecter...... And btw it has also come out that Sony is planning a men in black and jump street crossover 😜

If Spider-Man goes back to Disney, we're not going to have to wait 5 years in between sequels. What's your argument to support your idea that we would have to wait so long? Are you looking at Ghost Rider and Punisher as examples? Punisher and Ghost Rider needed to wait 5 years in between sequels when they WEREN'T with Marvel Studios. That's why Marvel hasn't done anything with them yet. Those aren't big heroes to begin with. Spidey is big and definitely would be getting a movie ever 2-3 years if he was with Marvel Studios. OR we would get a live action TV show like DareDevil.
