This is some quick sample footage taken with a Sony Handycam HDR-CX405. This was shot in the 60p setting.

I picked up this camera just a couple days ago. My first thought was when I picked it up..Damn it's so light. I have osmo action and Gopro 9 Black but I missed having a "old fullHD camcorder so I bought this...And I like it. When shooting with action cameras I really missed the feature of zooming in..:-)

Video quality is not the sharpest but zoom is great with accurate focus slight hunting, but for the price it is worth it. Probably can get it even cheaper if there is a sale. Now in 2021 this cam is still available in Singapore. Has a USB cable for connecting to external portable USB powerbank meaning you will never run out of juice.

Hello. Great video, very nice footage. I have just bought a Sony HRD-CX 405 and i get very poor video quality when i transfer it to my computer and watch it , Its a relatively good gaming laptop with a Nvidia 950M video card. The video looks much better in the lcd on the camera when i play it there. On my comuter it gets Very grainy and pixelated. Im i missing something ? I thought i could just transfer it to the puter and watch it and not loose any video quality? Help appreciated

I know you can connect and external battery pack, but can you charge with that battery pack while filming?

It doesn't look especially great to me, I've got a similar Panasonic model and the footage is at least as good once uploaded.

You must have a Micro SDXC (the manual say limitation of 64 go but i have a 128 go size SDXC and it's works fine,, card more than 128 go have many chance to not working but with 128 go you have more than 5 hours of recordind space, more than the autonomy of the camcorder) for using the XAVC S HD format at 1080p 60 fps (or 50 fps in UK and europe). Using the XAVC S HD format increase highly the quality of the footage.

That's subjective, but the highest resolution/encoding data rate settings inherently improve image quality.

I’d recommend using an iPhone instead. They take really good video and do well in low light. Unless you need really far zoom, iPhone is probably better.

Yeah it’s honestly not a great camera lol. I didn’t use it long. I found the cameras on my iPhone work better so I just use that now.

When you record smth in the room, you hear sound of i don't know what, like there is mechanical machine inside. IT is poor device. Audio sounds like it was recorded on magnetic tape in VHS. When i record on my smartphone IT sounds clear without that noise like IT was on magnetic tape. I brought it the next Day i received it. From now, i won't even look in Sony direction. I'm gonna buy Panasonic hc-v 770, or hc-v 380.

This HD is very poor! That's not real HD! Real HD is only in 4K cameras.

That's not true, 'full HD' is 1080p. 1080p on better devices such as higher end camcorders, SLRs(even 10 year old models) etc typically looks considerably better. 1080p/4k etc is not a guarantee of quality, you can have 1080p shot on one camera that will look far better than 4k on a worse camera. It depends on sensors, lenses, data rates etc.
