Awesome! do you know if it is possible to remote the camera through a wifi router remotely? I mean to leave the camera on location and control if from home?

What you're asking is possible but you would need to promote in via your favorite remote desktop software like go to my PC or TeamViewer to a computer on the same network as the camera so you got to leave a desktop or laptop running or what I do is a mini PC like an Intel nuck or a Mac mini on location on 24/7 and then you remote into that computer to remotely control the camera

Wow.. Just purchased a Sony ZV-E10 on the net. Then I looked for HDMI cables, because I want to monitor my recordings on my PC. Then I searched KZfaq, and landed here. Thank you for this video, it's very helpful! I just ordered my zv e-10. I was wondering. I'll be using it to shoot food videos and I'm recording sound with a mic attached to my laptop. Do you know if there's any way I could make it so when I press record video, the sound recording starts as well?

Hey mike, great video. I am wondering if i can keep smart phone connect off when connected sony image app on laptop with wifi.Basically I am asking because on sony website it states that on 4k video, skin softening is not available if the setting is PC remote or smartphone connect on..Appreciate your reply.Also anyway I can use softening effect on photos?

Thank you very much for descriptive tutorial. I have zv-1 vlogging camera. When I connect using usb cable following your other video to Imaging edge it allows me to access remote mode. But I can't see the videos on View interface. Do you know the reason and how to fix it. Thanks again.

First off, great personality and I really love the simple instructions men, I do have a slight problem where imaging edge desktop wont reveal any device and told me to check the connection. I checked it and my laptop is 100% connected to the camera tether/wifi. Any solutions? I've retry it a couple times, the same result

If for some reason it wont work for some people then at the bottom of that menu click on pc remote function and then select pc remote cnct method and press ok on WiFi access point. Cheers

Excellent presentation- Just ONE small oversight..when following your instructions TO THE LETTER ! The video stops playing on KZfaq. cause at a certain point you switch WIFI to the camera and the computer looses its connection!

Didn't work for me. It connects on wifi but on the sony imaging app. "The camera is not connected. Check the USB or network connection"

I had the same issue at first. I think it could be due to an outdated firmware version on the camera. Once you update that it should work. At least it did for me. The only downside is now the camera doesn't seem to support 3rd party batteries anymore. Even if the battery is fully charged it shows the orange symbol for battery critically low.

Oddly the a6400 does allow you to connect to existing WiFi networks, but the software (desktop or mobile) won't detect the camera connected that way...

man itt won't show on the remote software and with the cable says other program is using my camera but I check even in the activity monitor and there is nothing open that is using it

On my Windows 11, the WiFi Password directions are wrong. Win 11 wants a 7-8 NUMBER pin, the camera gives letters and numbers. After failing the pin number, it asks (in very small letters) if you want to use a PassCode instead. Click that, and fill in the camera code there.

Okay. So, I'm going to need a little help with this. I get it to show up on my Wi-Fi connections. However, once I connect try to connect to it, I get the good old boot from my actual Wi-Fi connection. Then it tells me that the Password that I have entered is either incorrect or the 8 characters are wrong. Oh, baby! I took a photo and everything. What am I doing wrong? I'm going to need a walk through. I slowed down the speed of this and EVERY THANG! lol

Hey Mike! It's missing an important point. Is there a way you can still access the internet on your laptop while it is connected to your camera wirelessly e.g. use camera in streaming mode over wi-fi and doing stuff online on your computer? Thanks in advance.
