What I would recommend for an easy to carry, immersive, clear, and powerful sound portable sound system are these models: SRS-XG500, SRS-XP500, SRS-XP700. Hi J B, thanks for the inquiry. Currently, your Sony A9G is not compatible to use as a center speaker with the HT-A9. The BRAVIA Acoustic Center sync mode of the HT-A9 Home Theater System only works with the Z9J series, A90J series, A80J, and X95J series. Although both models support the center speaker function, the built-in speakers of the A9G can only be connected to an AV receiver to use as a center channel. Hope this helps! -Sam

Ever heard of a phantom center? I use two tower speakers and no center. When i add a center it actually sounds worse lol

The only good thing about a center is if you have a wide seating, or at least people outside the middle spot, they can hear the audio coming from the middle of a speaker system. With stereo music you can very clearly hear the vocals in the middle right? Without a speaker being there...

Then buy a Sony Bravia (2021) TV and use the "S-Center Out" on the HT-A9 controller and connect it with the dedicated "S-Center IN" on the Bravia. Your TV will be turned into one big center channel. Problem solved! ;-)

Hey Ferry, only one subwoofer can be paired with the HT-A7000 at a time. However the SA-SW3 and the SA-SW5 pack a big low-end punch, so we don't think you'll be disappointed.

Currently, the BRAVIA Acoustic Center sync mode of the HT-A9 and HT-A7000 are only compatible with 2021 BRAVIA TV models such as the Z9J series, A90J series, A80J, and X95J series. However, you can still connect your X80H to the HT-A9 via HDMI ARC/eARC connection to output the sound from your TV to the HT-A9 home theater system. Hope this helps! -Sam

Hi Little Ninja, thank you for your interest in our Sony products. Unfortunately, the HT-A9 Home Theater System cannot be used in conjunction with the HT-A7000 soundbar. The HT-A9 is already designed to work well by itself. Additionally, the HDMI port is used to connect audio/video devices such as TV, BD player, game console, media box and, cable box. An optional 200W wireless subwoofer (SASW3) or 300W wireless subwoofer (SASW5) is recommended if you want to enhance the overall bass sound quality of the system. Hope this helps. Regards, Jess

Hi, The HT-A9 currently only pairs with one subwoofer at a time, however you can choose between the SA-SW3 and the larger SA-SW5 if you need more bass!

probably because they're made with Bravia XR logic which allows for the newest TV's to act like the central speaker (Sony A80J and A90J)

@@mr_ion not only that, but I would also assume that they wouldn’t want you to mistake it as a traditional sound system (which it isn’t). A traditional sound system REQUIRES a dedicated center channel to balance the sound with every loudspeaker, which are really powerful. The A9 are meant to be used as a minimalistic system that would blend in with your furniture. I think their only compatible with the new Sony TVs which can be used as center channels with the A9s, which is another reason why it doesn’t include a center channel. So I would think Sony would expect you to get their latest TVs and A9 speakers together as one system. It’s pretty clever marketing when you think about it.

You should go for the Harman Kardon Citation Multibeam 700 with sub and surround for €478,-, €650,- and €407,- = €1535,-. Expandable with citation towers (€2500,-) for a true cinema experience. Better sound than Sonos and great price compared to competitors
