Thank you for this video. Thanks to you I fixed my 46x4500. I used Ceramic resistor 5W 6.8 Ohm - without temp fuse - because couldn't get any with temp fuse. Works like a charm!

Thank you very much for your clear explanation. I had exactly the same issue and was able to repair the TV by replacing the blown cement thermal resistor with a standard cement resistor of higher wattage and separate thermal fuse. A $500 TV repaired for 60 cents. Brilliant!

I have an LG 23mp55hq-p monitor. The on screen menu works just fine and displays on the screen. When a video device or PC is plugged in it blinks a picture for a split second then goes black for 10 seconds and flashes a picture again. Any guesses as to what the problem is? Thnxs very much you creator of this video.Also for me, or actualy my daughter in law, kept me from throwing the TV away. I could also measure that the component was broken (infinite resistants). So I allready bought a 6,8 Ohm resistor. Later after hammering the broken component i found, A second component, The thermal fuse. After soldering the plain resistor the tv workt again. But i want to have it fused again so gonna go for the ceramic + thermal fuse in ONE despite it is a bit harder to obtain. thanks very much again.

I have a XBR-55X850d that has a faulty power input/LED driver board (part 16ST012S-A01) and I'd like to repair it. I can get a replacement board but they are a common failure point on these models and I'd like to identify the cause instead of replacing it everytime it fails. I want to say thank you. You helped me fix my sony kdl-40v4100 I had the same 6.8 ohm resistor go bad. After I watched your video I checked my resistor and it was the problem. Now I replaced it with a 5.6 ohm resistor and tv works now but will this cause a problem???

Did you replace the broken resistor with the same type that combines a 6,8 ohms resistor with a 142 °C temperature fuse? Or did you replace it with a resistor without a temperature fuse? I had the same problem mit a Sony KLD 46Z4500 but can't find an online-shop that sells these resistors with the temperature fuse. Do you know any?

The first thing is to check the fuse, not the transistor.
