Nice fix. Yes that original fan probably would have cost 20% the price of a new TV. I would have given up after the first hall sensor did not work. You have perseverance my friend.

I've never seen such a repair. Amazed and impressed! Is there money to be made if it takes so long? Glad I subscribed.

Such a gruelling task but its worth it! I remember those days replacing a hall effect i.cs on betamax capstan motors, a very delicate part...

Great improvised repair! I have a Toshiba DLP that I had to recently repair for the first time. These sets share a similar module style design but require a lot of time doing disassembly and re-assembly. My bulb is much easier to access than on this set. Still, great TVs even though they're 20+ years old, just hard to find parts.

What a pile of crap, that would be marked as uneconomical to repair here in OZ it would be e-waste.

In you place its an e-waste, but in my place is a treasure.

@@tevzTVTevatronics it is true that in some countries anything that can't be fixed in ten minutes is condemned as beyond economical repair (and a lot of electronics are thrown away just because they're out of style) but that says more about us... This is a great fix on a TV that has plenty more years of service left in it.

@@francisMbizaree It's all e-waste in OZ no business & I've been in business 40+yrs would fix this ancient POS!... But ol mate who fixed this POS apparently thinks it's a treasure in his poverty country.
