Күн бұрынSony's May 2024 State of Play has just wrapped up and we finally got a gameplay reveal for Concord. And we also got the reveal for the new Astro Bot game coming to PS5 this year. Also Silent Hill 2, Until Dawn PS5/PC, and God of War Ragnarok got some release dates confirmed as well. Throw in some PS VR2, and you've got a livestream that is.. well I wouldn't say bad per se. But this is the Internet so who knows at this point. Either way, Astro Bot supremacy. You heard it here first.

Astro Bot stole the whole show for me. I love how it's slowly, but surely becoming Sony mascot platformer equivalent to Nintendo's Mario. PlayStation NEEDS more "Nintendo" like child friendly games. Im so hyped for Astro Bot in September now.

Astro is exactly what PlayStation needs. An actual exclusive (not on PC) that shows the capabilities of its controller, it's not an open-world with millions spent in realistic graphics, and probably not the budget of a full AAA but still beautiful and unique in its own way. Even if it sells a million or two, they're probably making banks with this but it's OK. I hope they keep making games like this, as these smaller projects actually increases the value of the console.

Astro's Playroom is still one of the best PS5 exclusives. It was fairly short, but it was preloaded on the console.

@TheOneNamedMrLife that's a good take, they are actually similar. Knack was designed as a showcase for particle effects, whereas Astro's Playroom was designed to show off the Dualsense, which is a much more relevant idea.

Concord really felt like it should've been a single player game. They had this very cool retro sci-fi aesthetic and a world that is filled with potential. And they're wasting it on a 5v5 hero shooter that will probably only last a year. God what a disappointment.😞

But there are over 100 references in the game, so who knows maybe there is a Kena one in the game.

Great show. Antara and Wind look amazing. Path of Exiles looks insane. I'm excited for a new generation to experience Silent Hill 2. And Astro Bot is just off the roof. I'm loving how Concord looks. I'm tired of the cartoon art seemingly every game in this subgenre has and it looks cheap. Concord's art looks great. Presentation and animation are top tier as well. I'm pleasantly surprised about this show and I like it a lot. Antara and Wind are definitely on my radar now.

It's odd when I first saw Concord trailer of story I thought that it is open world RPG, but then gameplay revealed that it is shooter type of game (like Valorant) 🙂. Infinity Nikki made me smile! Silent Hill 2 is the game I am mostly waiting for. Astro Bot is always one of the funniest and hilarious games.

Once you have experienced Astrobot in VR, there is no going back. Rescue Mission was an evolutionary gaming experience that we need more of, not less which currently is apparently nothing at all. Love Astrobot as IP, but not so much as a flatscreen platformer.

I think Astro Bot is reintroducing that balance again that we got with Playstation before. Lately all their 1st party games are just super realistic fps with guns and graphics that make it look almost like real life. When all your games start looking like that it's hard to care. When you have a cute little robot with a flying ps5 well I mean that doesn't look like anything else like their lineup before. Same thing with Crash, Same thing with Jak, Same think with Sackboy. They get that balance and suddenly you see them push everywhere. Lets hope Astro Bot reminds them of that balance again.

@@NrettG yea, PlayStation was more balanced in the PS3 era. I think PS4 introduced those great graphics and games like GOW and TLOU that people got obsessed for them for a while, and it’s fine, they’re great games. But Sony focused so hardly on that content that they forgot about all the other type of gameplay. Games like that give you a long story and movie like feeling…but not really that much FUN. Games like LBP or Ratchet or Astro give you that interactive and cute feeling with the game. It feels like that, a video game, not a interactive movie.

@@diegoalejandro8981 I 100% agree. I mean even GoW 3 was vastly different from the line-up yet it fit in nicely. TLOU was both a blessing and a curse because it introduced one of THE best formats to tell a story through a video game imaginable. The problem is that it quickly became a formula and we got sick of it pretty quickly by the time the PS5 line-up came around. We need more games like GoW 3 where they fit the line-up and feel like it yet are completely different from the last 1st party you played. For example in the PS5 line-up so far. I couldn't really tell you the difference's between Returnal and TLOU 2 besides that Returnal is a run and gun rogue like. In almost every way their pretty identical except for one key part. Even Demon's Souls had the same color grading as well. I wish that PlayStation starts going to for same vibe instead of similarities since that's what we need most.

Good to see confirmation about what the hell Concord was supposed to be, looks fun enough but I don't know how many people are gonna be into it, but I said the same thing about Helldivers 2 so I guess we'll see lol. SH2 release date was nice to see as well. But Astro Bot totally stole the show man. I've been waiting since 2021 for a new Astro Bot 3D platformer and I'm so glad that Sony heard us and actually funded another game from Team Asobi. It looks awesome! PlayStation is great at these huge AAA "hardcore" games with realistic graphics and all that but what they really need is something like this in their lineup. More casual, fun, easy-going AAA games.

Infinity Nikki and that new Astro Game are about the only ones I was happy to see. The former I only just knew about thx to the SoP, but I think it's cute and beautiful, and it seems interesting and unique. And Astro Bot, that really exceeded my notions of the game, I'm so hyped for that. I'm not sure about Ballad of Antara, but I didn't feel particularly negative about it.

Nikki is originally a high quality dressing game IP and they are the only monopoly. Generally the outfit are the main priority.

I played Stellar Blade and Two From Soft games (Bloodborne and Elden Ring) and fashion is a big deal in those games too, even though in their cases it's not a main focus. I love cute girls, so I'm cool with dress up being a big deal. Furthermore, I play as a female toon most of the time in games with a character creator despite being a guy, and I'm always trying out new attire, one of the reasons I enjoy playing as a female.

Cmonn guys cut some slack for Concord. It might not be our cup of coffee but there are many who were criticizing Sony for not having good first party FPS and multiplayer games anymore. This is their attempt to build that back. The shooting mechanics looked fun. So lets see how it will be received. Beta is quite close

I feel it depends on the gameplay loop . If it's more like halo / arena shooter it could be cool. They said they took inspiration from fighting games and strategy games , so I'm hoping Concord focuses more on 1v1s and stuff where the fight is more strategic and less about just aiming

Im open to Concord as someone who enjoys overwatch. The idea of a weekly updated story is enticing so long as the characters are cool and the gameplay is fun with depth.

Your enthusiasm for Astro Bot is priceless, very enjoyable to see. I look forward to an updated version of Silent Hill 2. I'm hoping character movement is improved upon, from there they should let the original game be their guide. Don't reinvent the wheel.

If Sony doesn’t overmonetise Concord, I can see players being receptive to it; but the business models of hero shooters are so different to PvE, that it would be asking a lot to not be what everyone fears it will be.

This was a 3/10 astro bot is the best they showed. I definitely miss e3 because it put pressure on the gaming world to show up & show something now they do that whenever. Sony gotta stop showing ps game pc port games announcements especially when they just said the main audience is console those could just be post on their social medias. People who are picking them up are more than likely doing so due to the dire catalogue that has been out put on PS5 since launch. Tbh, I'm good with not a lot showing up. I have a massive backlog, FF XIV Dawntrail coming next month so I've started investing time in FF XIV again, FF XVI dlc, interested in picking up/playing Stellar Blade. I'm set. Also excited for MH Wilds cause I loved World. Rise confused me and felt like a massive step backwards until I learned that wasn't intended to be a follow-up to world and instead part of a separate handheld line of releases while this is the next main title. I'm here for it.

My guess is that with the death of Overwatch 2, many gamers will look to other games to fill the void left behind and they'll see Concord and check it.

With Concord, the trailer transformed the game into something more akin to Guardians of the Galaxy than a typical 5v5 Hero Shooter. It appears as though the initial vision for the game leaned towards a single-player experience resembling GotG, and it pivoted to become an Overwatch imitation under Sony's direction. There is a strong possibility of this game launching and fading quickly. It seems unlikely that a game of this nature was in demand or necessary in 2024. I am genuinely curious about the developmental journey of Concord as well.

they really set up Concord to die here Infinity nikki a stand out, its just so bubbly and non corporate so many souls like Astro a nice surprise, their only real game from their catalogue of corporate photorealism movie games MH being MH, i wish they didn't try to appeal to casual crowd, its not worth it in in the long run

Nikki is an IP started as mobile games. They pretty much monopolise high quality dressing game. I don’t know if there’s any PC games that have anything close to them. Now they releasing on console is very unexpected to me. They even have boss fight lmao.
