For anyone wondering, sound canceling and ambient sound DOES work plugged into a controller. You just press the physical SC button on the left. Works really well too

I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love them, zero complaints… ps: increasing the higher frequencies in the app does increase sound quality to a considerable amount

How can I turn off the function that automatically switches between noise cancelling and ambient sound control? It won't let me run on the streets with NC on, very irritating :(

That’s able to be adjusted in the Sony companion app! It’s called “Ambient Sound Control.”

I listened to xm5 and ult wear in the shop, i bought these even though the price was close. The bass in these is punchy AND boomy, you can feel it. ANC is just as good as xm5. On the other hand, xm5s were a tiny bit cleared when it came to highs, but im more about deep bass than hires audiophile stuff, xm5 bass was a let down.. Also, my ears stay inside xm5s but ultwear my ears touch them. I love these ult wears.

It depends on what you’re looking for in terms of sound. If you like bass and deep warm sound than I would ABSOLUTELY PICK THE SONY ULT’S!!!

L’erreur la plus courante est de croire que le bouton ULT ne sert qu’à amplifier les basses. Non, vous pouvez modifier l’égaliseur sur l’application et modifier les paramètres juste en appuyant sur le bouton. Avec xm4 et 5, il faut obligatoirement aller dans l’application pour changer les paramètres d’une chanson à une autre. Là, on ne le fait qu’une fois.

I’ll probably pick up a pair off the back of it… You know what would have been good to know though? … Is it possible to pair 2x of these ULT headphones to the same audio source!? 🤷‍♂️ Example - Can me and my girlfriend have a pair each and watch movies via the PS5 using Sounds Picture core app… Which is similar to the Bravia setup. I’d love to know if you happen to know the answer or have a source for this kinda info! 👍

In lab testing, most results are showing around -25 dB to -30 dB of noise isolation.

It appears not. Luckily the quick charge mitigates this and is, with just a few minutes of patience, a non-issue.

ULT-WEAR is the successor of WH-XB910N, and WH-XB910N is the successor of WH-XB900N, so which means that ULT-WEAR is 2 generations after WH-XB900N. I think that it's definitely SOOOOO MUCH BETTER? My WH-XB910N is broken into pieces last month, and I'm excited to get a new generations/upgrade, which is the ULT-WEAR btw!!! I believe that the noise canceling is definitely gonna be better!!!

So… can you only EQ the “normal” mode, or can you make adjustments to the ULT settings and EQ those too? (To essentially have three custom presets to cycle through using the ULT button.) No reviews are clear about that. Are you stuck with a set amount of bass boost for each ULT setting, or can it be slightly adjusted to your liking?

Hey, bought them 2 days ago. The equalizer works on all ults the same. You can only adjust the bass levels. Hope this helps

@@baesmuth6067 When you say adjust the bass levels, do you mean that you can, for example, change ULT1 so it is “+12” and ULT2 so it is “+16” or if you’re stuck with ULT2 always being a rigid “+20” or whatever. Nobody’s really talking about the ULTs being adjustable at all.

Good question! The EQ preset you make will apply to ULT 1, ULT 2, and ULT OFF. I tried to explain this in the video - think of the “ULT” button as a bass boost mode to that set EQ you have. You can lessen the overall bass that ULT 1 and ULT 2 add but this is done through the local EQ setting you have. You can’t adjust ULT 1, ULT 2, or ULT OFF Modes individually - only globally - with ULT 1 adding some bass and ULT 2 adding even more bass. Does this make sense?

You can’t adjust the ult algorithm you can’t adjust everything else

so to sum up if you have a Childs mentality to music and think music sounds better with the bass distorted to take over the whole track and making the track into a distorted version that is not how the track is supposed to sound, then there is the ULT button, but then again if you have a child mentality to music and think all music sounds better by just pitting the bass louder by distorting the balance of sound wouldn't you just buy beats, I mean isn't that the point of beats for people who care about turning up the bass on everything and following marketing via celeb payoff like sheep? Maybe this is beats for people who want others to think they have more intelligence than they actually do.

The title, big "MISTAKE" for anyone who is thinking about purchasing them. I have a KZfaq account, I enjoy content on things that interest me from content creators, I own the ULT, I enjoy them & open to hearing other opinions regarding headphones and such, particularly those.... but if that's what you're going to lead with that in your title, you are not going to get everyone on board with even looking at what you've got to say. I know this little fact because I had that immediate reaction reading your title and only got on your feed to comment.... Now had you had a more relaxed & neutral title, I promise you, I would have watched more of the video... that's all, I was making an observation & I told you what I thought
