I have the VG20 - man what a workhorse. To this day perhaps the best bang for buck camera I've ever owned. Still use it to this day as a C cam. Good mention about its ability to perform in the heat - I shot a Memorial Day service for a local VFW when it was 95 in the shade (and we were in the sun). I thought for sure it would over-heat (it was actually hot to the touch), but it never did. Great review of an oldie but goodie!

Just a super nice, positive guy. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to make of you when I first saw your content (a loooong time ago), mainly bc I just didn’t understand how someone could be so genuinely kind. You haven't shown up in my feed for ages. Nice to see you again. I love my (Panasonic) camcorder. I don't know why they aren't more popular. Film making with a photography camera is doable, but it's like playing soccer with a rugby ball. Much less control. All the best from Yokohama😊

I’m not in US. But must admit it would be fun trying a camera like this so if I was I would have entered. Understand the complications. You sound very generous and some months ago I saw a video you had made about your life. What a story. I think I bumped into your channel bc of checking out som information about some camera or something. Just like I bumped into photo when a friend of mine gave me a canon 1100d. I haven’t had much success lately so only invested in a lense to it. Keep up the good stuff

Bought one of these after watching one of your videos... GREAT camera... The rolling shutter is pretty bad... But for documentaries it's an awesome camera... I really wish Sony would come out with a newer camera like this with its form factor... Maybe now since the FX30 came out Sony will realize APS-C has a great market... I think it's actually quite ridiculous the hoops people jump through to shoot video with mirrorless /DSLR cameras... LOVE YOUR VIDEOS...

LOL - I can't believe you do a whole video just around a giveaway. Your approach to keeping things simple and fun made a HUGE difference in my life. We got those epic rains, and my studio flooded. I decided to use it as a reason to do some of the things you have suggested, rather than replace everything right away. Then we got a second flood, which would have been terrible if I had all new equipment. I really have had a lot of fun just exploring and experimenting like I did in high school. The funny thing is, we have yet another tropical storm that appears to be headed straight for us, and I'm not even sweating it.

@@MarkusPix Rockport, Texas. We took a direct hit from Hurricane Harvey, four years ago TODAY. In fact, just about this time I was in San Antonio looking at a satellite image of the eye and saw the shoreline where I live. Seriously. My house did fine, but the house I bought for a studio hasn't done as well with these floods. I have to admit, I'm about ready to buy some new equipment. (I will pre-order the R3 when it is announced.) But I also have to admit that I had grown stagnant with what I was doing, and these recent months using "lesser" equipment have energized me. That's from you.

I’ve got a couple of NEX series camcorders already and I’ve been all over the world with them - the only major design defect is the tripod mount - using a rifle mount will eventually crack the plastic body around the tripod bush. If you don’t win the competition just get a used one from e-bay anyway.

So, the same drill. Only within the USA. I just got an iPhone 12 mini as my main camera. Got to make do for now plus I still need to learn sooo many things. The more I learn, the less I feel know.
